Seriously. I dare you to listen to this Youtube video without watching. Make yourself do it. Don't look and see where your imagination takes you. It's disgusting. Abuse is abuse is abuse. She has no business being a mother. She must be exposed and jailed, along with the monstrous family members that are looking on, taping the shit, egging the mother on, and chastising the poor little girl as she screams, begs, escapes, and is dragged back again for more. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING and I am so serious about the bitch being reported. Any suggestions? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6hxh4vysqo

I would bet that this is not her child.
But I do know that some children will scream and holler while others won't when you are combing/brushing their hair; it depends on whether or not a person is what is called 'tender headed.'
But in this particular video, it appears that this woman is deliberately being extremely insensitive to the fact that the child is what is called 'tender headed.' Also, the fact that we now have Black women that know nothing about natural hair after they themselves had mothers that put relaxers in their hair at a early age----there are generations of Black women that have no experience what so ever with natural Black hair.
It does appear that this woman is not even trying to not hurt the child while she is doing her hair, but if my mother had been on video when she was doing our hair when we were kids it might appear to look just as insensitive, although our mother never cursed us, but when I was a child women would lock your head between their knees so you couldn't move your head while combing/brushing your hair.
There is a certain way you must comb or brush nappy/kinky hair and the way the woman in the video is doing this child hair is definintely not it. The way the child his screaming would let anyone know that they must be doing something wrong---however, considering how badly she is cursing the child, I doubt that she even cares.

A link to this video should be sent to child protection authorities. I've never seen anything like it. Here's a link (fyi) http://www.childprotection.gov.lk/informus.htmlDon't know if this is the right place to file a report but it's a start.

The dumbass cameraperson was just laughing at the poor little girl's pain. "We're gonna take this to America's Funniest Home Videos." They should end up on "America's Most Wanted."

The DuGruy-Leary Effect (Post-traumatic slave syndrome) strikes again! Hatred of your own daughter's hair, and instilling self-hate into the girl because of it. As OBB's article link points out, this goes on a LOT, and it's not an exaggeration for me to say that it's one of the things that has to stop, if we're going to progress as a people.

It seemed to me like the mother's 'hatred' went a lot deeper than her daughter's hair! That heifer has some self-hatred issues of her own ... not to mention those against men (the girl's father, at least), her overall life situation, and the fact that she's ignorant and only knows how to take that out on her children! She wasn't even trying to properly comb that child's hair. Only an idiot whacks at hair like that! There's no way to style a person's hair going about it the way that she was ... or to get the tangles out of it. You can only inflict pain stoking and pulling at a head of hair in that manner. If she's ever actually combed the child's hair before that video, she knows that she didn't make it happen by attacking it in that way. It's unfortunate that she ... and a whole lot of other young women like her ... are (emotionally) unfit to be mothers, yet have (multiple) children to care for. The language she used towards the little girl shows that she should not be trying to raise that child into a healthy, well-rounded, educated young woman .. because she's incapable of even knowing how. Hopefully, the little girl will come in contact with someone else in her life that will help her achieve that goal before it's too late ... and she turns into a carbon-copy of that dumbass fool (or the Aunt that's making the video!) that's raising her right now. I would add that strangely enough, I don't think the woman is intentionally trying to abuse the child ... in the sense as most child abuse cases go. I think she's just ignorant and young and angry ... and doesn't really know any better ... which is and unfortunate and sad thing within itself. Some of the comments suggested that the mother could benefit from a 'parenting class' ... which is probably true. An education of some kind is definitely in order ... unfortunately, I don't know how much time the children involved could afford to wait for their mother to learn what the hell she's supposed to be doing with them in the meantime.

This doesn't require psychological analysis ... it isn't DuGruy-Leary Effect (Post-traumatic slave syndrome), or even an example of hatred. It's merely [and tragically] a young woman acting a fool for the camera.
I highly doubt [or sincerely hope] that if that camera wasn't there, that kid wouldn't have been subjected to that crap.

So I guess the place to start is... http://www.michigan.gov/dhs/0,...7119-21208--,00.html

There are many many instructional videos for black hair care on YouTube. She shouldn't even be trying to use a paddle brush to get through that child's hair. With thick hair, it's best to use a large wide toothed come and some detangling conditioner.

~National Public Radio (NPR) did an interview segment on this same youtube video.~ **************************************** August 4, 2009 Hair is a tricky issue for many black women — and always has been. A YouTube video showing a young African-American girl having her "nappy" hair brutally combed is sparking a heated debate over parenting styles when it comes to black hair care. Tell Me More regular parenting contributor Dani Tucker is joined by Teresa Wiltz, who recently wrote about the issue for theRoot.com, and Susan Pettiford, a salon owner who specializes in black natural hair styles. The women offer thoughts on the hair combing video and whether it amounts to child abuse, and they debate whether — even after years of emphasis on black self-awareness and celebration of black aesthetics — hair grooming is still a painful, or brutal, experience for too many young women of color. ************************** go here to listen: http://www.npr.org/templates/s...hp?storyId=111532075

Reply the mother in the video is Tiffany Dixon(maiden) the person recording it is her teenage daughter Temperance they live in St. Clair Shores Michigan Tiffany works at Costco in Detroit in the finance department and attends Wayne State you can run a google cache of their myspace pages myspace.com/grownandsexy128 and myspace.com/sexi_326_08 blackplanet.com/tiff128 there were originally 3 tapes one of her actually hitting the girl with a brush. I contacted child welfare in Detroit and they claim that without her address there isn’t anything they can do and the link I told them about had someone talking over it do they couldn’t hear the verbal abuse so they just viewed this as a “child not wanting to get her hair done” I asked if that was a dog being attacked like that would they have a problem with it she didn’t respond. Tiffany also has a blog at grownandsexy128.blogspot.com where she is threatening to shoot a guy. She isn’t even trying to style the childs hair she is doing this to be funny, if you look at the girls hairline you can see bald patches.

I’m just as upset about this video as everyone else is but the odds of the police actually do something are slim to none especially when her cousin Brandon is a Detroit Police Officer and is in FBI training plus despite her hoodrat behavior her family has money so she will have a good lawyer. She used to work at the Southfield Hilton and she a borderline stripper on the side she sometimes host parties called Caberets she had pics up on her myspace. She is in the middle of a divorce from the girls father so I think she is doing this to get back at her husband Brian. It just goes to show you that money can buy you a whole lot of things but class isn’t one of them!

Tiffany was in my business class at Wayne State, if it will help she is Majoring in Finance and Business. She drives a black Jag with a silver grill, it’s not a new one I’d say it’s early 2000 or later 90’s and she also has a red Cadillac. Hopefully this could help to narrow down where she can be located.

I just wanted to add that her Caddy is also early 2000 or late 90’s as well. I noticed prior to all of this attention this video has received her daughter Temperance the one recording the video said on a friends page that she was packing her stuff up life she was moving and Tiffany who was on myspace everyday had disappeared for a few weeks and I asked her why she wasn’t on as much and she replied “she was losing her patience for myspace and that she was going to be deleting her page soon” but she didn’t give a reason and the next thing I know her page was deleted and I received an email from another friend with the link to the YouTube saw it was her and went to her myspace page to ask her about it and she had deleted it. So I think she is well aware of the trouble she is in. I used to have her number but I misplaced it. But she does work at Costco.

the” mother” in the video is 32 year old Tiffany Dixon(maiden) and her 17 year old daughter Temperance is recording it, the little girls name is Autumn, and the little boys name is Ian. The 2 kids father is white and his name is Brian. They live in a Detroit Suburb St.clair Shores Mi. Tiffany is employed in the Finance Department at Costco in Detroit. Her sister Krystle and her husban Allen Simpson own Sound and Secure Stereo and security car shop in Detroit. We are trying to organize everyone who has viewed this video and found it to be both disturbing in abusive to contact the Detroit Area Childrens Services(they have been notified but they claim that without her actual address there is nothing they can do.) But we feel if enough people call and complain it will force their hand in the matter and make them search out additional info. Detroit Child Protection also encouraged us to contact the St.Clair Shores Police Department in hopes that they may have an Internet research team that can trace the IP address of the original poster Temperance “temp313″. They have removed all of their online accounts myspace.com/grownandsexy128, blackplanet.com/tiff128 (”mother”) myspace.com/sexi_326_08,crushspot.com/mz_fr3sh_69(temperance). However Tiffany still has a blog open on at grownandsexy128.blogspot.com where she is threatening to shoot a man Jerry Santos from a non-profit organization. Please do not just sit on this information help us to make the authorities do their jobs because if this is their behavior with a camera rolling I can’t even imagine what they do off camera.

I feel for baby girl. Even the sibling trying to pull her back after her excape. That brought back so many memories.
That's how my mom did my hair when I was little. She's still rough when I let her tough it now.
Natural herself, this is also how she combs out her own hair.
She insists that having that type of warfare with one's crown is the only way to get it ready for cornrows.
Ignoring the cursing, I honestly don't think this woman was trying to be abusive in the technique she was using. In her mind, she's probably tired of the child being "tenderheaded" and thinks the child's scalp needs to be toughened up or whatever.
If I knew her, I wouldn't be quick to call Services on her. But I would seriously try to educate her.
I've seen parents try to comb out nappy hair by pulling from the root with fine-toothed combs going insane because their children would go crazy. I usually showed them how starting from the ends with my big-assed comb achieves the same results. Explained how their children's hair would go longer if they kept up what I was doing.
All of them argued with their mouths at the moment about not having enough time or how I was babying the kids, but I did see a change in their techniques later on.

~I don't think that the foul cursing and attitude of the mother can be left out of the interpretation. The whole thing, imo, wasn't even about the child's hair. "You ain't got no mothaf***ng daddy!" is what I think the whole thing was about, plus a bit of hair jealousy on her part and the cameraperson (older daughter) as evidenced in her comment to her brother, "You next with your curly hair!"
If you'll notice, the little girl "steels" herself in the beginning. You can see it in her face. She's aware of the camera and has a stone-faced resolve not to give them what they want and feed into the "intent" of the video. She knows she's being made a "show" of. To some degree, her scalp has already been toughened up, as well as her spirit. I can just sense her "going to a happy place", or trying to, so that she can get through the experience without giving them what they want. But, she eventually buckles under and gives up the tears, which is the ultimate goal of her attackers. The fight was only half of what they were after.
If this video was really about combing the child's hair, wild brush strokes in every which way and direction would not have been used. Sections would have been used. This is not a white woman with a black child and no clue. This is a clever woman wanting to get out some anger on a sneak tip. After all, who among us looks at a black hair combing session as "child abuse"? Clever bitch.
She knows the proper way to comb and detangle the girl's hair. She ain't brand new. What she is is bitter because she's no longer with her white ex so she'll get at him with his half white kids.~
