Opened this up as a place for fans, like myself, to share memories of Michael Jackson and his music. I know you all have some.

When I was a little girl...The first time a musical performance brought tears to my eyes because I was so excited, was Billie Jean... I thought he was a magician when he did the moonwalk... Motown 25 Anniversary

I remember both the cartoon, the first time it was shown & the Motown 25! I especially remember the Motown 25 because I begged my parents to let me stay up extra late on a school night and they let me. Even though I was no where near California, after I took my evening bath, I dressed up in an outfit just to watch MJ on TV! I'm not one to be outdone! If you didn't watch the show you were in the 'left out' crowd the following day at school! Just watching him sing "Billie Jean" and do the MoonWalk was amazing! I could feel the energy from the crowd through the television! It was one of those classic TV moments if you missed you truly missed a moment in history.

I remember MOTOWN 25 and the day after, I tried to impress a girl by not only walking her to class, but moonwalk her to class. I was doing well, until I didn't look behind myself and I fell into this open trashcan. Never again did I ever try to moonwalk to impress a girl in middle school.

Ditto on that Shaya! And "Remember the Time" was another one of MJ's breakthrough videos. Quiet as it is kept, MJ did a lot for the black community and supported many black causes. I mean who would've thought that MJ would with his superstar international status perform at the 95% black Motown 25 program. How many black entertainers if they achieved his status would do that today for the same reasons he did it back in 1984?? Not many!

I think my my favorite Michael Jackson album was "Off The Wall". But my favorite songs are still the Jackson 5's I Want You Back and ABC. He was supposed to be my husband back then.

1. The Love You Save 3:01 2. One More Chance 2:59 3. ABC 2:57 4. 2-4-6-8 2:58 5. (Come 'Round Here) I'm The One You Need 2:43 6. Don't Know Why I Love You 3:49 7. Never Had A Dream Come True 3:01 8. True Love Can Be Beautiful 3:27 9. La La (Means I Love You) 2:54 10. I'll Bet You 2:28 11. I Found That Girl 2:59 12. The Young Folks The Jackson 5's second album. This is the one that put them on the national map and one of my all-time favorites. As a pre-teen, my much older first cousin bought this album and he would play it all day, every day in the front room on the stereo (the one that looked like furniture). He would shut the door and not let anyone in the front room and he would dance to the music by running around the coffee table in the room! The first Black person I know that did not have any rhythm! I had to lay on the floor and put my ears next to the closed door to hear "ABC" being played so I could hear with all the noises from the TV and all the gossip talk. When I went to college years later, I stole the album from the front room and took it with me! To this day I still have it.

When Jermaine Jackson sang "I Found That Girl" ... everybody I knew wanted to be "That Girl"!! There was 5 of them - brothers - spanning all age groups! Every female on the planet was in love with one Jackson or other!

A nice song Michael did (possibly wrote?) with Jermaine that was hot but was overshadowed by the success of Thriller at the time... I remember it.. and loved it a lot.. It still sounds good.. (of course-much of his music is timeless) :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...BLZo&feature=related

This song was fairly recent, from the Invincible album. I believe it was also recorded by floetry. But on this song, you can hear that he still got/had the pipes and the falsetto high notes. Micheal Jackson: Butterfliesor In the Closet, feat Naomi Campbell and her thigh muscles2. The Way You Make Me Feel 3. Remember the time 4. You Are Not Alone 5. Pretty Young Thang (PYT) A special MJJ memory for me is back in school when everybody had to have a red plastic jacket with zippers on it to be cool. Hi-water pants and white socks were also extremely cool because MJ made it look good. Oh and the jheri curl to make it look like u got "good hair"

Peace... My best Michael Jackson memories are from the very early eighties. I can remember wearing Kango boots, Max Julian style coats, Levi jeans, and lots of (yes)Murrays grease for the purpose of creating and maintaining brush waves. The entire memory of this episode of my life seems to come with Michael Jackson's music playing in the background. One of my favorites was Rock With You He will be sorely missed, and I pray he travels well.... Whirling Moat

You know, I go to post SomeTimes and I keep getting dejavu of me having dejavu of me having dejavu....and NO, it isn't the repetative posting. I was just watching this video of Michael Jackson's Best Dance Moves (LUVVVVING the song 'UnBreakAble'), when I moved down to the comments section. I LOVE this one: "Clearly this man somehow acquired the power to bend the laws of physics to suit his own needs. There is no other plausible explanation for these dance moves."...NO ONE will ever be able to do it up quite like 'Michael'

Best Michael Jackson memory... 9 or 10 years old, debating with my best friend Derek over what MJ was saying in "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." I swore the lyric was "Keep on, Cause the bus don't stop..."

My favorite albums by Michael Jackson (from most to least): 1. Off The Wall 2. Thriller 3. Bad 4. Dangerous 5. Gotta Be There 6. Invincible 7. HIStory My favorite songs by Michael: The Love You Save (actually Jackson 5) Human Nature Don't Stop Till You Get Enough Rock With You Thriller Billy Jean Off The Wall P.Y.T. Wanna Be Starting Something Blame It On The Boogie (actually Jackson 5) Remember The Time You Rocked My World Another Part Of Me Heartbreak Hotel Bad Butterflies Beat It Scream Smooth Operator Leave Me Alone You Are Not Alone I still remember the first time I heard one of his songs. I think it was about 1989 or 1990 (I started listening to music on the radio real young). The first song I heard from him was "Human Nature" being played on the radio in the evening as I was driving with my mom and we drove by a placid lake with a reflection of the beautiful evening sky in the water with that song playing in the background. I didn't really think about who the singer was (too young to care) but about a year and half later or so when I heard "Dangerous" in 1992 that's when I got hooked. I was mesmerized by the beat of the song, his voice and his flawless elaborate dance steps. I didn't even really think he looked weird at the time. R.I.P. Michael. You left too soon. My mom actually cried when she didn't think she would. Ironic on the day you left I finally did my first perfect and flawless moonwalk. Right around the same time of day I first heard your voice when I was a child.

That makes me wonder if any of his kids will get into the entertainment business. Will there be a Michael Jackson, Jr.? I know no one can replace him or reach his level of icon but that would be interesting. His nephews are already in the industry.

 1. Who's loving you 2. I want you back 3. ABC 4. Dancing Machine 5. You are not alone 6. Thriller Album 7. Off the Wall 8. History Album 9. Dangerous 10. BAD 11. All his music videos 12. And last but no least, The Jackson Five Variety Show. At my son's funeral celebration, one of my daughters sung his number one hit "You are not alone" during the end of ceremony. There wasn't a dry eye in the place. And on the back of my son's obituary[sp]....I borrowed Michael's words from the song "Gone to Soon". Now as of date, I can't bare to listen those two songs without crying my eyes out....but! Each recording was so relevant to how I felt at the time. Again...Michael's music was a part of important events in my life. He seemed a member of my family based on enoromous amount of songs reflected in my development as a adolescent to my adulthood. For me....he's NOT just an artist....he's much much more. He was the Black guardian angel of my generation/era. BTW: The list above are those I can think of off the top of my head....but! Basically, I LOVE all his songs. Every. Last. One. of 'em.

^Aw man, I forgot to list some of those. I guess there are just too many great songs to list.
*sigh* Well, here's a nice way to look at it: maybe Michael finally got to meet his stillborn older brother Brandon Jackson.

I never really considered myself a "fan" until this weekend. Each time I saw a video, heard a song or saw a performance, I could remember what I was doing at the time and it put a smile on my face.
I procrastinated about getting his music collection but I will not miss out on what I'm sure someone is planning to put out next.
