Are the teachings of the NOI still relevant?

I'm sitting here listening to a show online where a couple of ministers from one of the sects of the black American version of Islam who is speaking on the 'talking points' of the NOI. Those talking points are 'Christianity is bad' 'The white man's time is over' and 'Negroes are full of foolishness' (I'm paraphrasing here).
They have been using these talking points since the 1950's and 1960's. I'm wondering if these talking points or ideas are still relevant today. I don't see it.

Are you talking about the Minister Farrakahn-type NOI??

Because I've been wondering what his followers are thinking now that he had his 'near death experience' with cancer ... and has changed his conciliatory tune and  suddenly loves everybody now ... wants to unite with 'others' ... yet, continue the quest for Black nationalism??

He seems to have had one of those "Come to Jesus" moments ... and dude really hasn't been the same since!    But is his sudden 'change of heart' flowing down to and taking hold within the ranks of his followers, as well??

Oh!  But to answer your question ....

Yeah ... I kinda think they are!  I mean ... all that's still kinda true!    It  hasn't been effective ... but, relevant?  Yes, I think there's many of those ideas that Black folks could stand to know ... to learn and then use to their best advantage!
