Going away on a short holiday escape to the beach... no computer, no internet, no hassles, no work, no nuthin'



because at last the East Coast is heading towards summer!

It sounds so weird that "summer" is starting for you ... we just went through our first 45-degrees night, and I've been stoking wood in the fireplace for the last 2 days!!

...but I had a great time anyhoo.... even picked the winner of the Melbourne Cup with Delta Blues - how could I go past that name? Cool Even though it was a Japanese horse...

I'll post some beach pics tomorrow... so nice to chill out and be LAZY. No school kids so empty beaches, friendly shop assistants, lots of fresh air and country food... and empty cinemas LOL

I'll post some pictures of my beach stay - with threatening clouds overhead later Big Grin

and I'll be back soon with some new book reviews... didn't do too much reading this week... just some nice tight articles in the Quarterly Review. Aaaah... to write like that... ascerbic, sharp, clever and funny.
