Brotha Chester. Yep. What's more interestin' to me is this word entered the English dialect/language in 1864. My thinking is to make sure there will no mixing with the soon-to be former slaves. Wonder why?---Kocolicious

The word 'control' comes to mind.

We 'get a hump in our back' when it is said the European American controls us.

Yet we 'look on' while mass media publicizes our abuse of ourselves, and notably...our own children.

But they don't put us in jail...for that abuse.

This obtuse contradiction makes one wonder...who is controlling who.

Then...we come to our senses with the realization that it is the same 'ole, same 'ole.

'Charlie' is doing the controlling.

Just like always.

PEACE

African American
Pledge of Unity

We stand, Together, after left alone in a land we never knew. We Bind ourselves, Together, with the blood and will of Those who have gone before. From the Bodies of our Ancestors thrown away, from the Pieces of Ourselves left to perish, We rise as One, a New Body in a New Land, a New People in a New Nation. Of Common Mind, Body, and Spirit, By Declaration of our Amalgamated Individual and Personal Authorities, We Are African America.
