African American day parade!

The African American day parade was built in the

spring of 1968. The first meeting was held at

2315 Seventh Avenue in Harlem. The parade

was made as an independent organization

and DOES not accept contributions. I think that's

rare that they don't accept contributions. But

this parade is based on volunteering.

The First African American Day Parade

began September 1969 in Harlem. The parade's

route is at 111th Street and seventh avenuje

and ended at 142nd street. Harlem was chosen

as the area of the parade because it represents

a lot of BLACK AFRICAN peple and it is the

BLACK capital of the world.

This parade allows African people to get together

on a certain day and highlight OUR BLACK history and

salute African people throughout America and the world

for their acheivements. IT's centered on dignity ,pride, and

unity. The parade has its special arena for organizations,

dignitaries, celebs, community leaders, and bands to

show off their POSITIVE accomplishments and to motivate

our BLACK PEOPLE.

This parade is a national parade involving representatives,

organizations, and bands from about 12 states. It has the biggest

cross-section of Black organizations in America. SO they

displaying the big things OUR BLACK people do. Instead of the

usual 5 stars, they get a billion stars for that.
