I can be pretty shallow. My shallowness fluctuates from time to time. Just the other day I was watching a video(trust me I seldom do), and I noticed how ALL the girls were bangin'... then I thought to myself... "self, you need one of them!"... Am I the only one here that gets attacked by the shallow bug? I posted a song by Gucci Mane and Mac Bre-z(female) to sort of drive the sentiment home...

quote:
GUCCI MANE LYRICS

"Go Head"
(feat. Mac Bre-Z)

[Hook]
Go Head, Go Head

[Chorus x2]

I have a question....

I have been reading the board, and it seems that some women have issues with certain pics, of women being displayed. I dont have an issue with any of these pics.........because to me, its eye candy.

But i think the concern or the behavior comes to light, with 'real life' situations.

Do you think, a lot of men (like yourself), view women/life the same way.

You actually go out and look for these type of women (video), to have in your lives?

....And when this doesnt happen, you complain?

Im wondering if a lot of men, are like this.....but not realizing it.

All men have shallow 'tendencies'. Some have had enough 'display trophy' relationships, 'this woman look good as all get out, but she stupid' relationships, and 'damn she fine, but, damn she get on my nerves' relationships, to know better than to act on those tendencies.

qty226,

What do you think about the song? Do you force yourself not to bob your head or dance to it?

Heru and I are in different places on this one. I never chose a woman to date based on getting props from the fellas or trophy status. It was always personal preference & experimentation. While all Black women, I've dated all sizes, complexions, heights, educated, thugs, natural hair, permed hair, airheads, intellectuals - you get the idea.

P.S. I like "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" - it's kinda catchy. Loop that with "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" by Young Gunz and I'm music Sorry for the off

Cmon ddub,

You mean to tell me, not one single time in your life, you haven't been pursued by a hot chic that under normal circumstances wouldn't stand a chance, but you gave her a chance anyway BECAUSE she's hot so why not.

Seriously - it's never happened. I saw too many of my friends struggle with drama (other guys, kicking out lots of cash, etc.) dealing with incompatible eye candy. If I sensed that I was dealing with someone like that, I'd 86 the relationship quickly.

Ok, ok.....the only reason why i think about that song, is because of the dance that goes with it!! Big Grin

Ok.....now back to the topic.

I just think, those men that 'look' for these type of women, will be disappointed at some point.

I was just figuring out what I liked & could accept in a relationship.

P.S. Sorry qty226 for the off topic. Don't worry, there's plenty of Miles Davis mixed in too!

I have to say that I have only pursued one woman based solely on her being fine and her fly-girl image [that gives away my age, huh?]

The relationship lasted less than a week. I discovered that I needed much more than an image.

Well then,

So the question is, has every man here(at this forum) outgrown shallowness? If so, to what extent, I mean have you outgrown it so far that you'll just settle for any woman with a 'nice' attitude, and is seemingly compatible?
