What is some of the best life advice you would hand off to a son or a young black male ???


I'd say

1. never spent your last dollar, or penny [money is power, be strong]

2. love comes and goes, but real love is forever
[don't trip over this girl/that girl, if it was meant to be, it would have happened!!!]

3. M.O.B.

4. B.B.H.

5. H.O.B.O.

6. Keep your dreams alive by writing them down, but not just notes, but a add a pathway to those goals. [for example, i want to be rich...how to get there?? invest income, buy used cars and save, get a second job to pay off debt and save as much as possible...remember a millionaire HAS a million dollar, he didn't SPENT A million dollars!!! ]

7. Listen to old people, they already done done it and either passed it or failed it, but they can help you help yourself [STEAL wisdom!!!]

8. build a tight circle of positive people around you. This inner circle will help your 'battle' this thing called life [the bruhs will always have your back and you theirs!!!]

9. Wash your hands regularly [kills germs, prevents disease]

10. MOST IMPORTANT!!!! Pray all day, everyday, make time for God in your life

Some advice from my father: "Sometimes being a man means not fighting; but walking away." (Meaning: pick your battles; only fight those that you can win or are willing to die for.)

Some advice from my grandfather: "If you're fishing in a turtle pond, don't get pissed off if you catch a turtle. If you want bass, you best be fishing in a bass pool." (Meaning: If you're looking for something, go where it is most likely you will find it. If you don't, don't be surprised or angry with what you get.
