From time to time, I revisit old threads on AA.org. I thought I'd use this thread to point out some of the classic threads in the Den.

Feel free to add your favorites as well.

To start the list, I would like to submit:

A poignant moment...

Why Aren't There More?

and a reminder of what it was like around here when the stars were aligned and everyone was lovey-dovey...

You know what, ddouble? I don't play bitch games like some other people play (not talking about you) but everything that glitters isn't always gold. And I sincerely hate people that hide under a false facade of innocence and beauty and can be just as narcissistic, confused, and melodramatic as hell in person. But hey this is just the internet.

If pouring water on a wet dream means telling the truth about a person's true personality behind the scenes instead of basing a person's personality on phoney behavior on the internet, which is truly naive and gullible, then call me Aquaman.

What happened here? Confused

Call me an optimist, but I think we were all getting along at that time. We disagreed agreeably and could poke fun at each other without excess drama (for the most part). Things changed and we are where we are now.

Some people could've been fake - who knows for sure? What I can say is that it was much easier to engage in debate then without the rails falling off.

I understand what you're saying about people getting along on the discussion board, and that's cool, but that isn't what I was referring to. I've had the pleasure of knowing someone personally, as in beyond the internet, and they were not whom they portrayed themselves to be on the internet. Sorry man but above all else I hate phoney people.

What happened was ...

Just as I had come out of the harmonious thread of "Our Ideal AA.org Woman" and was thinking what a nice thread DDouble had set up for the men here, the first thing I saw was Romulus injecting his usual self-indulgent, highly personal, negative connotation to what had been, IMO, a very positive trip down memory lane.

In my usual (highly emotional) fashion, I quickly shot off an equally negative comment due to the fact that everything ... even things that have absolutely nothing to do with him (these threads were even before his time!)... must be about him and he will ruin a perfectly good and positive thread to make them so. sck

However ... I do realize that in The Den, I should have let men's business be their business ... and I am working hard at trying do so (though it is still a work in progress and I haven't graduated to that point yet! Smile). But, had I thought about the fact that I was in The Den, as opposed to Dating & Relationships forum ... I probably wouldn't have responded, just on general principles.

But I did. And for that I will apologize! But, I meant what I said and have no intentions of taking that back! Eek

However ... in the spirit of "Essential Den Reading" I would like to offer this highly entertaining old thread ... that is definitely a "man thread" and will (once again) try to leave y'all alone!
