With Thanksgiving coming up, I'll be going home to spend some quality time with my man. I want to do something really nice for him without necessarily having to spend a lot of money (being the broke college student that I am)... but I'm out of ideas. I don't want him to know, I just want to be able to do it as a surprise for him because he does so much for me. I would just go out and buy something but I don't know what to buy him anymore because the man has EVERYTHING! So guys- here's one for you... what would make you feel "special"? If your woman was trying to plan something special for you what would be your ideal day, thing to have, etc.?

I'm not a man but I have some ideas...

First off, know that your love for him IS the greatest gift of all. Hopefully your man is not materialistic. If he is, forget everything I say.

You don't need money to touch his heart. Sit him down, and have a nice long conversation with him. Tell him how grateful you are to have him by your side. Really make him FEEL what you feel.

Get creative...make him something by hand, write a poem or letter...sing a song! Buy McDonald's and eat it under the stars!

Last but not least...I don't know if you two are sexually active, but if you are, WORK IT! throw a lil sumthin' sumthin' new into the equation. Dedicate a whole night to pleasing him physically.

Your man probably loves you so much girl...don't stress out about it-he wouldn't want you to.

How about a heart felt card that says how you really feel? I don't know you, but I don't think that you would into a man that is materialistic, so keep it simple - sometimes the best gift is just saying that you care.

If you don't like that idea, then how about an accessory to something that he already has? If he's into video games how about a new and/or unique one? Maybe tix to a sporting event?

Peace,

Do something that will let him know that besides the lack of funds you will be by his side and support him no matter what. Sometimes your actions can mean volumes. So if making one of those cards like you made in kindergarten does the trick then so be it.

Got no love for politicians
Or that crazy scene in D.C.
It's just a power mad town
But the time is ripe for changes
There's a growing feeling
That taking a chance on a new kind of vision is due

I used to trust the media
To tell me the truth, tell us the truth
But now I've seen the payoffs
Everywhere I look
Who do you trust when everyone's a crook?

Revolution calling
Revolution calling
Revolution calling you
(There's a) Revolution calling
Revolution calling
Gotta make a change
Gotta push, gotta push it on through

A great idea that I got from a friend, who got the idea from a friend who had got it from her friend....no lie, so you know it's a good one. Get a glass jar. On little pieces of paper write little notes preference it with Just because... It could be the classic "Just because I love you, but you also can put things that you also appreciate him for i.e. "Just because you listen to me". Or "Just because for our first date you took me to so and so". Since you have been with your boyfriend for a year you can easily come up with 50 of them. After you have written the notes layer them with tissue paper in the jar with hersey kisses (or any other type of candy he likes). So he has to go from layer to layer in order to get all the notes. Hope that helps! And remember I am sure anything that you give him from your heart he will love!

I've done that...You brought back fond memories AG...It was a much appreciated gift.Wink(In other words, it works ladies!)

I say get him a card, a home cooked meal, some good lovin', a beer(if he drinks) and the remote...

I really like naturallyme's suggestion. But I wonder if that would work better on us ladies than a man...What do the men think? I'm not a good judge cuz I seem to like what men stereotypically seem to like(In other words a perfect night for me would be what I suggested...especially the part about control of the remote Razz) Do you guys like that romantic, well thought out type of stuff too?
