The Embodiment of Brotherhood

By definition, embodiment means the act of embodying"”to embody or become part of a body: incorporate. A brother, by definition, is one related to one another by common ties or interests or one who shares with another a common national or racial origin"”a soul brother. It is my belief that when a man becomes a part of a brotherhood"”an alliance"”he becomes the personification, the embodiment of a man.

In the metamorphosis of becoming a part of a kinship a man should learn from his brothers, if he doesn't already know, or share with his brothers, how to feel and see with both their hearts and minds not their hands and eyes. A man that is part of a brotherhood should think with wisdom, not his brain. He should taste with his life, not his tongue. Brothers of a brotherhood should possess the fortitude and integrity to act and react as one and furthermore represent the whole as an individual. In regard to one another and to society, a brother should be a Shepard, a protector, a provider, a guide, regardless of the origins of the individuals that comprise the brotherhood.

As a part of a brotherhood, the source of a brother's strength, wisdom and courage should flow from the love in his heart for humanity, his people, and high regard, love, respect and appreciation for women"”our wellspring"”with the gifts they have to share to make two, one and turn one into three and more. In a brotherhood, a brother should be made to place his vulnerable self into the hands of his brothers with his brothers appreciating and respecting that true self.

A brotherhood should be made up of eternal friendship, trust, and love which will bond these brothers as they take the arduous path, less taken, to overcome and transcend trials and tribulations in life, together as one. The eternal bond of being in a brotherhood will last these brothers until the end of their days in this world and serve as a beacon to help them find each other in the next world.

Do you believe you practice this? What does this mean with respect to the Black man's daily life?

Does it matter, Frenchy?

Can you just sit there and read a piece of material and not turn it into a lecture on expository writing?

Sometimes, I just want to post a topic, a discussion, maybe even express a thought electronically and not have to explain every word, every sentence, every opinion, every comment, every statement, every phrase, and every quote.

Just step away from your keyboard for a moment, relax, relate and release....

Very nicely written, something that should be posted up high where all the brothers can read and hopefully understand.

I'm feeling this piece.

Mainly because it is in line with "Black thought", which you ridiculed in another forum.

This piece is indeed contrary to western Individualism. The Darwinist survival of the greediest/fittest ideals that are heavily promoted in our society are far from African synchroneity. One God, One Body(embodiment), One Love is the basis of all African thought.

"I gosta get mines" is a result of THIS environment.

THAT TYPE OF HONESTY IS BELOW MY PAYGRADE.

I would say something but it would look too much like I'm only being compliant because you agree with what I wrote.

Your comment is, however, noted.
