Yes. I don't see how two years of service after High School would hurt. (Yes, I comprehend the present situation.) In other countries, it seems to help young people to have a better understanding and appreciation of their citizenship.

I don't like the idea of it being mandatory, I'd prefer it was by choice.
If anything was mandatory, I'd rather it be conflict negotiation & resolution skills as being taught from primary school onward, along with self-esteem, health and personal fitness skills.
