Has anyone checked out Spike TV the first channel for men? Do men need a channel just for them?

I reviewed some of the programming on Spike TV and didn't think they offered anything that couldn't be found on any other channel at any given time. To me having a channel designed for men is like having a channel just for Whites. The target audience for the majority of TV shows is men so why do we don't need our own channel.

I used to watch the channel formerly known as "TNN" and I still do. The only changes I see that were made were they added some animated shows, "Gary the Rat", "Striparella" and "Adult Ren and Stimpy". I'm still a "Star Trek" fan and I enjoy watching "Miami Vice" or "RealTV".
Do men need their own network, I can't say as of yet. But does it really matter? Most TV shows on the affiliates are geared towards men anyway.

Our people have made the mistake of confusing the methods with the objectives. As long as we agree on objectives, we should never fall out with each other just because we believe in different methods, or tactics, or strategy. We have to keep in mind at all times that we are not fighting for separation. We are fighting for recognition as free humans in this society

SpikeTV started out as The Nashville Network, and in my opinion, it still is.

i finally found it. It was pretty good. I like the programming, esp. the wrestling, baywatch, and blind date...i wish they would add Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, and Ateam....other shows, seem alittle 'PWT', but i guess it's a good start.

I think it was more of a publicity type thing. Men love sports and sex, if it doesn't have a lot of games or a lot of nude women, its not a man's network.

I see that the new TNN has finally become Spike TV. Spike Lee must've dropped the lawsuit.

You are not the only black man who likes "Frasier". I am a loyal watcher, been watching since "Cheers".
On the subject of Spike Tv, if women can have a channel just for them, then why can't men have the same? I watch tv, has anyone noticed that tv is not geared just for men? I think that is an excuse. Tv is geared toward people who spend money, men and women alike. Certain items are geared towards men and some towards women. Sports is for men, ok. Sitcoms are not for men, you think "Friends" is supposed to just attract men? Every show on CBS is geared more towards women. If I see the wife on "Everybody Loves Raymond" berate her husband again, I'll ***** her myself. Spike Tv is simply looking for the easiest target audience, men who don't want to think for awhile. I watch it for wrestling. None of the shows have any redeeming value, its just fun. I think men need a channel though. You ever watch "Lifetime"? Every crime on that channel was committed by a man or Delta Burke. I need a male channel to feel good about myself after watching man bashing 101.

I was watching spike last night (completely underwelmed as usual)and they had "the 50 best presnts for men", anyway they showed a car from mercedes or B.M.W or something like that, that ACTUALLY TURNS INTO A SPEED BOAT!! Did anyone else watch this or was it just me. I think they said the sticker price is like $250,000.

Then I heard another voice say:"come out of her,my people,so that you will not share her sins,so that you will not receive her plagues, for her sins have piled up to heaven and YAH has remembered her crimes, give her back as much as she has given;pay her back double what she has done. Mix her a double portion from her own cup. Give her as much torture and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself."(Revelations 18:4-7)
