In regard to your father's qualities and outlook... how much like your father are you, and what have you learned from him that you apply to your own lives?

And which of those qualities would you like to pass on to your children...?

The only quality/outlook that I can attribute to my father is my sense of integrity/honesty. For my father, his word was his bond; for me it's the same. If I say I'm going to do [or won't do] something, you can count on it.

Can't think of any of my fathers traits since I didn't know him that well and what I do know I wouldn't want to pass along

I will admit (much as it galls me) that I do share my fathers trait for money (ie. finding new ways to make it), which is probably why I took such a shine to economics and investing. Except he is a 2 bit hustler while I'm a working stiff.

Honestly not much and Im proud of that, see me and my father are not close. Mainly because of some of the qualities he posese; like being bad with money, un-loyal, and a liar.

Wow ...

It's amazing how many Black men have troubled, if any, relationship with their fathers. 14 I feel blessed.

What did I learn from him?... He worked hard... took no nonsense .

HonestBrother... I was trying to approach it at a slightly different angle... not so much how alike sons are, but what type of behaviour and values they choose to adopt themselves, and those they choose to pass on... there is a difference, if a slight one. Smile
