Name your list of southern rappers who have flow. What makes them talented and why do you like their style?

Here's mine

1. Lil Wayne
hails from Louisiana and Miami and can twist a phrase quite eloquently. He uses unexpected words. I swear i heard him say "I will comport myself like a rockport" lol

2. Mystical
erm, despite the legal problems, he had a gravely rough voice texture almost like James Brown and this made his inflection really hyper

3. Ludacris
spits some not quite so tight rhymes but the big booming voice over simple beats works for me.

I can't really count Lil Jon...is that really rapping?

oops, can't leave my sistas out

Lisa Left-Eye Lopez (RIP) had a unique rhythm and lyrical quality. Who knew high pitched and nasal could work for a rapper? music ek

Check out Bun B (1/2 of UGK).

Rides the beat flawlessly and when he's not rhyming with Pimp C, elevates his lyrical content and use of metaphor. I'm interested to see what his music will be like now that Pimp C is deceased.

Definitely Andre 3000 and Big Boi.

Style & genre breakers; able to tackle any subject with a variety of flows & lyrical complexity. Best rap duo period (and possibly best rap group) IMO.

"There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general:
(1) Recklessness, which leads to destruction;
(2) cowardice, which leads to capture;
(3) a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults;
(4) a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame;
(5) over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble."
