Erykah Badu is pregnant with child #3 with a different father...What da Hell?? Here is a link to an article about her pregnancy AND her response to those who are criticizing her.

Erykah Badu. Sounds angry & embrassed to me for making the decision of getting pregeant for the third time by baby daddy #3 and being critized for it.
Her response? Typical of someone who got called out and lashes out at her critics for her decision and/or mistake (if that's what it was). Since she is a paid & famous artist (she can afford baby care) she feels that a drawn out poetical intrepreation of a "kiss my ass & f*^k you" rant will cause people to pause and leave sister girl alone. Badu's a rebel; she could care less about what people think. Erykah, come on, either you don't believe in protected sex (for yourself or your man) and if you do, you slipped again or your buyin' your man's game and they continually lock you up. QUOTE: the fathers of my children are my brothers and friends . we have a great deal of respect for one another and always will. WE LOVE OUR CHILDREN TO NO END. we took our own “vows” and CONTINUE TO UPHOLD THEM. AND THAT IS WHAT THAT IS . REALLY? I wonder how many more children with other women these brothers and friends have? Erykah, you sound like one of those girls who wanted a boy's baby because he was cute & bowlegged. For Erykah, many more children on the horizon with those "brothers and friends" that she encounters and "takes her vows with" and has a spiritual connection with. How many babies? Only she knows that number (maybe it was 3, maybe more). How many baby daddies? Who knows. She definitely not into the marriage thing. Less drama. Also brothers, you're not gettin' half! QUOTE: I LOVE CHILDREN AND I WILL HAVE AS MANY AS GOD WILL GIVE ME . I AM VERY HEALTHY AND RESPONSIBLE AND SO ARE ALL OF MY PARTNERS I CHOSE THEM WISELY AND SOBERLY . ALL GOOD BROTHERS . Attention to all Brothers and friends: you may want to dust off/update your resume and line for the job fair: The Erykah Badu "extended potential connection" interview. She's hiring. Relocation, totally unnecessary. Cell phone or Blackberry, mandatory. Meals provided.

No one is saying anything about Angelina and Brad's basketball team of children....3 adopted and 3 natural So. Erykah go on with your bad self. More power to ya my sista...have a couple of mo' while you're at it. I know whatever you do as a parent, you are going to bring up some dynamic proud individuals who will be a huge benefit to the black community and will definitely place their MARK, in some outstanding way, in this world...I can just feel it |

Exactly. No one is saying anything negative about Angelina and Brad and they'll continue following Angelina and Brad like they're the new Adam and Eve because they are two extremely high profile entertainers that can have anything and anybody they want but they choose to stay together and collect babies. However, with Erykah, she keeps trippin' up on dudes and you have to be down with some underground blogger or journalist to find out who the fuck the baby daddy is. We got enough of that baby mama bullshit from Lauren Hill and Nia Long with they stupid asses. We like hearing about black couples that know how to keep their noses clean like Denzel and his woman, Lawrence Fishburne and his wife, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, and Angela Bassett with her ugly ass dude.
I'd rather be hated for what I am than loved for what I'm not. - Chuck D. |

Umm... aren't Brad and Angelina married? Your Analogies 101 teacher would be disappointed. Having said that, though, I don't think anybody really needs to criticize Erykah. My thing is, she's obviously on another cultural plane from most people, and what she's doing in building her Baby Pop Squad seems to be pursuant to her own particular thing. It doesn't seem like the result of any inherent irresponsibility on her part, or any particular misguidedness. She's working within her own parameters, and in those parameters what she's doing is not dysfunctional. On the other hand, the average woman, operating within and being subject to the larger society's parameters, is being highly dysfunctional and screwed up if she has that many kids by that many dudes. So as long as Erykah and/or the fathers are financially able to provide, the kids are doing well, (although with names like Puma, I'm not saying anything!), and there's not a lot of dysfunction in the way they're being raised, each of these factors provide barriers between her situation and other people's business. It doesn't look like there's any reason for people to judge in this case. ____________________________________________________ |

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are NOT married.
For some reason, i thought of Erykah as the feminist, god is a woman, a woman's body is a sacred temple type. This possibility messes with that image in my head. I admit, it might be unfair to her though. I hope Obama doesn't get wind of this! That's a whole new lecture! Really?? I thought they were. Oh well. Maybe Koco's Analogy teacher will change her grade from a D to a C+.
I think the "Divine Feminine" idea is a reason why she WOULD have so many baby's fathers. That would be consistent with what I've read about Astarte worship before the Abrahamic era. Under that mindset, there's nothing sinful, dirty, or wrong about a woman having babies by multiple men. ____________________________________________________ |

Well, being in D-town, where she resides, and unfortunately surrounded by her and her 'crew' at many events. I and my more militant and authentically cultural friends call them the 'incense people'(Don't get fooled by those playing 'dress up' folks...lol), sharing a few mutual friends, and many associates ect... I would have to say her and her mentor Isis*, who has a million kids and baby daddies) need to Slow Down.

when did they get married? I must have missed that. I know the children have the Jolie-Pitt name, but i never saw any reports that they had gotten married... i guess i wasn't watching the tabloids closely enough. Oh no! Not the X-klan Isis, she was way to militant(back then, things have changed for her) to be her mentor... It's this local lady who does hair(and sings and does poetry), Eriykah still get's her hair done by her, and breaks her off way more than she owes her every time... out of guilt. I need to stop! Erykah strikes back.
After being criticized for being unmarried and possibly being pregnant, Erykah Badu took to the OkayPlayer forums to set some anonymous commenters straight. "I've never been so disgusted in all of my life. There is no other place I used to enjoy more. I post nowhere else. You guys have taken an all time low, tho." As with so many Internet battles, even her supporters are divided over whether she should have taken on the criticism or not. Some wish she wouldn't have bothered letting it get to her. Others say her well-crafted response was the right move. In either case, Badu boldly says she doesn't care if she loses fans over her personal decisions or her decision to speak out. "WHO NEEDS YOU... CERTAINLY NOT ME... KICK ROCKS ... CALL TYRONE ..." she writes. And her sign off is even better: "If this post is not clear, kiss my placenta." *********************************** “It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.” -- James Baldwin |
