Oh yeah!!! I was living in NYC when To the East Blackwards came out. Sonny Carson, Lumumba's dad was still alive and raising hell in Brooklyn.

fro Nope! No lecture when you're a GROWN ass woman...got your own money/head on your shoulders. Not a kid/or teen. Made a CLEAR decision to have another child....otherwise she would have used precautions....I'm sure. She is totally AWARE of what she's doing as she welcomes a new member of the family. It ain't like she's a ghetto-fabulous trying to hook a man or keep a man or trying to live off public assistance cuz she too triflin' to go to school or get a job. No. This was a conscious decision she made.....on how she wants to LIVE her life. Not only do I think she's responsible and capable to do this, I also think she is a very mature and wise young woman to boot. And you need maturity to raise children.

I only preach to young girls who know NOT what they are getting themselves into....are uneducated and unaware of what it means to bring children in the world cuz parenthood is no joke. And children are NOT toys you can put away when you grow tired of them.

Believe me I would be the first to say somethin' if I felt she was boring potential criminals or drug dealers or just bad ass kids as a result of parental neglect. And the reason why I exclude marriage cuz being MARRIED isn't a guarantee of both parties having the necessary parenting skills to raise children. I know a gang of married couples who can not RAISE corn let alone children. I know married couples who are enabling their children to depend on THEM or not teaching them responsibility or independence....so for me it's the QUALITY of the parent which determines how the child will turn out. Cuz there are a lot of dysfunctional MARRIED couples who need children like they need a hole in their heads.....but! JMHO....is all. fro

fro After careful research I have determined that the marriage between Jolie and Pitt on a boat in the open sea was another fluk. There are several stories like this: one in New Orleans another in the South France....another in Lake Como in Italy. What I read was real until it was unconfirmed a few weeks later by Pitts agent..however, I never read about it since then and never got the memo. So. You guys are probably right! I do not like spreading rumors or untruths. So I digress by saying "never mind." I'm wrong. I wasn't reading about them day to day so......I really don't know. Razz

Over the weekend Vh1 Soul did a block of old school rap videos. They showed "Self Destruction" (East Coast rappers) and "We're All in the Same Gang" (West Coast rappers).

Maybe it's time for a reprise.

You guys have taken an all time low, tho."

As with so many Internet battles, even her supporters are divided over whether she should have taken on the criticism or not. Some wish she wouldn't have bothered letting it get to her. Others say her well-crafted response was the right move.

In either case, Badu boldly says she doesn't care if she loses fans over her personal decisions or her decision to speak out. "WHO NEEDS YOU... CERTAINLY NOT ME... KICK ROCKS ... CALL TYRONE ..." she writes. And her sign off is even better: "If this post is not clear, kiss my placenta."

You may be grown and make six or seven figures, so you're able to take care of your babies, but the girls who buy your records, don't make 6 or 7 figures to financially take care of three babies by three different baby daddies. You want people to respect the Queendom? Then tell the teen girls and young adult females who are your fans to not do what you're doing, because they're not financially well off as you are.

"Kiss My Placenta?" Oh no, Erykah. "You Can Suck My Prostates!" td6

Well ... if Erykah's fans were doing as she's doing (i.e., following her example) ... they would earn a 6 or 7 figure income before they had kids.

What's da problem?

I wasn't being sarcastic.

I was taking you quite literally.

You expressed concern over people following Erykah's example.

I only pointed out that if people followed her example, they would become internationally known recording artists, draw Erykah's income, and have as many kids as they want because they can afford to.

Is there really anything wrong with that example per se?

Suppose for the sake of argument that Erykah had been married to the same man for the last 10 years and all of her children were by the same man.

Suppose they had 5 or 6 kids.

Would you want the average married couple (or a couple that was financially strapped) to follow the example of having 5 or 6 kids?

I don't see what the big deal is either. Her kids are 10 and 4 it's not like she had baby after baby and now a new baby. I guess it would have been better if she got married to Andre, had her first child, divorced Andre, remarried, had her second child, divorced that child's father, remarried and had her 3rd child?

HB, you know good and well that those who are following Erykah's example Don't make 7 figures right now.

My point is that if they're not making 7 figures then they're not really following Erykah's example.

For me, it makes all that women's empowerment, and girl you better deal with your baggage type music from her ring hollow. I don't feel that the example she is setting is consistent with the message she sends in her music.

Further, how are the brothas gonna be put on blast for 3 or 4 different baby mama's but somehow all is well with Erykah Badu simply because she supposedly has some money?

fro I really DON'T see where the problem is. She is MAKING a CLEAR decision to have this baby-if didn't want it BELIEVE me there are legal ways not to. But I guess this is what happens when you live in a glass house. I'm from old school so I believe this. What comes out of MY BODY is my business. And parents need to CONTROL their own childen's behavior especially when it comes down to having unprotected sex.

Additionally, parents should be [focused on] RAISING their OWN children and providing them with adequate information regarding their health....but! We live here...and people gonna do what people do. However, I would like to SEE this sort of passion on stuff we can REALLY do something about. As I always say...Opinions are inactive words...but ACTION bring about change and awareness. Bottom line: It's her body...with her CONSEQUENCES. Her only obligation is to RAISE her OWN kids....not the public's. Just cuz their children is buying her records is not a criteria, requirement or legitimate reason to tell her HOW to LIVE her life or HOW many children she can have. Makes no sense to me. fro

If it's none of our business that a celebrity who reps that female empowerment bunk in her music has multiple children by multiple baby daddys

then it's none of barack obama business to be chastising black men about the children they make.
