I'm kinda REALLY low on cash right now and need to cover some overdue bills this week but don't get paid till Fri. Anyone ever use one of those payday advance places online like cashhelp.com? My credit's down the tubes but they don't do credit checks and I'd have the money by tomorrow (I only need $350 and none of my friends wanna help...) I looked around it and it seems really easy and they only charge 10%.

Has anyone ever used these guys or have any ideas? Thanks.

Will if you're REALLY pressed, it's a way to get money now; but that 10% is effectively more than 200% apr.

A better solution may be to talk with your creditors and write the post-dated check to them. That way it is interest free.

Payday Cash schemes are a rip off that prey on lower income, credit challenged folk. It's another form of predatory lending.

To give you an antedote:

A couple of years ago I read an article about a mobbed up loanshark, who got out of the game and started opening Payday cash centers. He said that it was the same thing he had been doing for years [in loansharking]; but it is legal, and he realizes substantially higher returns on the money he lends out. Now he doesn't have to break legs, thumbs or arms, he simply attachs the debtors paychecks when they don't pay.

Kweli, yeah, I'm pretty pressed so I went ahead and did it through the cashhelp website. It was actually really easy and I got it over with quickly. I don't see what happened to me happening again but even if it did, I'd go through these guys again. It is a service so I did expect to pay but it wasn't that much. And it certainly wasn't like walking into one of those money stores. Really don't feel like being robbed anytime soon. Thanks again for the advice though Kweli.
