Most readers of my threads realize the tremendous battles that ensued since the beginning of 2007. The largely democratic congress wanted it one way and the president and republican minority would not play ball.
The embattled 110th Congress finally rushed a spending bill through that had a little bit to suit everyone's taste it seemed. But left many other issues either unresolved or not addressed at all.

I am happy to announce that the Afro-american farm relief bill (Black Farmers" reopening of their USDA discrimination case-Pigford v Glickman-lawsuit) finally have been given a "second chance" to have their claims addressed. Thousands of Afro-American farmers will share in this historic civil rights monetary settlement. This legislation survived the crucible of congressional disarray at arriving at a budget to keep our government operating.

However, there were changes that will affect our 2008 tax-filing season. Some will not be able to submit tax returns in January, but most will. I encourage most readers to visit the IRS site at www.irs.gov to familiarize yourselves with this year's (2008) tax news and filing tips/changes.

It is also my desire to offer general guidance and suggestions for questions about information posted in my threads on AA forum
