This is a long, but revealing piece for those that want to know ...

I was particularly stuck by this observation, as it describes the/a problem in the US financial markets; but extends to everything in Washington ... "Let's not even consider what best or right; let's only consider what is eminently doable in this political environment." This BTW was one of the most stinging criticisms of the Kucinch candidacy ... he is proposing to do remarkable, but politically undoable things, e.g., End the War, Truly Universal [Non-profit based] Healthcare, Living Wages, True and Universal Civil Rights Protections, etc.
