I glanced just briefly at his voting record for my list of priorities. I will have to look at it closer to see if it is enough for me to cast my vote for this ticket. Right now it's still a toss up.

Now it is done.
Senator Joseph Biden. I am pleased. I think Senator Biden is the 'good choice'. The best choice. Now a President Obama...doesn't that sound just great?...doesn't have worry first about who will guard his coffee when Senator Clinton is in the room, and second what to do with 'Bill'. I'm happy with the pick, I learned more about Biden after much commentary about him in the news.
A wise and experienced pit bull VP is an asset for Obama. Biden is really modest compared to most of the lifestyles of other senators I think that is special. |

I agree. But I'm curious about MBM's take on this pick. Ubuntu - I am what I am, because of who we all are. "Peace is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice." - MLK www.PersonalSafetyInstitute.org |

I have to see who McCain chooses. I don't consider either a powerful choice so I will be voting and hoping for the best based on both tickets record on the issues I see as important. ____________________________________________________ Got no love for politicians Or that crazy scene in D.C. What are your primary issues? It's unusual to see someone choosing between Obama and McCain - they represent such fundamentally different choices. Weren't you against the Iraq War? |

Initially I was for the war based on the reasoning we were going to stop Bin Laden and further atacks. After I got over there and the story started changing my support for the powers that sent us and the war declined. I was against the surge as I believe if war is declared we should go in 100%. None of this "civilized" war BS. If we had went in without the arogance from chaney, rumsfeld and the rest of the armchair commandos and laptop bombadiers a lot of lives would have been saved. As far as my issues 1. A strong defense 2. Immigration 3. Double standards for politicans, political reform 4. Education 5. Affirmative action 6. Economy and loss of jobs abroad No particular order and I'm sure I'll think of something later. ____________________________________________________ Got no love for politicians Or that crazy scene in D.C. Sadly, this will probably be the third time in a row that this very question is the main/only reason I cast my vote for the Democratic nominee for president. I voted for Bill Clinton because I really wanted to. Every vote since then as been because I had no choice. BLACK by NATURE, PROUD by CHOICE. Before there was ANY history, there was BLACK history. |

You voted for BC because you "really wanted to" - yet he screwed and abused black people at every turn. What evidence do you have that BO will somehow be a worse president that him? |

I claim no loyalty to any party. I base my decisions on what I consider important and who I feel will meet those needs the best.
Since my opinion of all politicans is very low, I'm not looking for anyone to be perfect just keep things somewhat level. Given that, Obama is not automatically getting my vote ( my card was not returned from the last time is was confiscated so asking me to turn it in is a waste). I don't like either candidate or their constant flip flopping. I wish more people looked at the issues rather than party affiliation, then maybe we would have a viable candidate. ____________________________________________________ Got no love for politicians Or that crazy scene in D.C. And so, the problem. There is no viable candidate...without a party affiliation. Now...ain't THAT a 'beach'!!! I didn't say I thought he would be a worse president! Don't get me wrong, MBM. IMO, Barack is a nice guy, and I don't dislike him, I would just rather have a different choice as far as voting for a president. While I know he would be better at running the country than any Republican would/could, especially at this point in time, I don't consider him the best or most qualified person for job. He's only the best person available, which is a different thing. I also think that should he get the job, he will do an adequate job of it. He certainly can't be the worst president we've every had. He may also be an extraordinary president ... there's no way to tell, so, I'm not discounting that as a possibility, either. I just don't know. On a personal level, for the type of person I would like as a president, though, I'm not happy with many aspects of his policy agenda - they just happen to be better than the alternative. I'm not thrilled with the way he's handled controversy - he's just better than the alternative. He's also made questionable decisions throughout his campaign. But, the other guy offers a less desirable choice. When I voted for Bill Clinton, I didn't know he would *screw and abuse Black people at every turn* as you put it, just like when you vote for Obama in November, you don't know that he won't ultimately do the same. I do know life was happy and prosperous for me during that time, though. There was good things and bad things that came out it as a whole, I suppose.
