Does this mean more choices will be offered in the future or is this being forced on us as well?

Hopefully if this takes off, the school districts here will not cave in. I would prefer other alternatives such as an African, Chinese, or Arabic dialect be taught to my kids since we are looking at proficiency in 2 languages, but of course that will never happen.

Got no love for politicians
Or that crazy scene in D.C.
It's just a power mad town
But the time is ripe for changes
There's a growing feeling
That taking a chance on a new kind of vision is due

I used to trust the media
To tell me the truth, tell us the truth
But now I've seen the payoffs
Everywhere I look
Who do you trust when everyone's a crook?

The IOC chairman made a big deal about Bolt celebrating his victories. Did he make the same fuss about the world record holder, gold medalist, er um silver medalist, no wait bronze medalist, I mean also ran from Great Brtain who taunted the Jamicans in the semi finals of the 4 x 400?

Will Bolt comparable endorsement $$$$$ as Phelps?

I'm not so sure about that ... I think the difference is the same as that between dumb and dumber ... except it's bad and worse.

They are like cigarettes. They are designed to become habit forming. Also, they are like arsonic: they are not good for the body. Hotep.

(No doubt this is probably due to the recent increased enforcement of immigration laws and the subsequent raids on companies that hire them, but ...)

It occurred to me today that over the last couple of months I've been seeing a lot more Black men as part of construction and road crews than I used to while I'm driving around the city. I wonder if other cities are experiencing this same type of increase. 19

Coming home last night I saw a police officer who was a Hasidic Jew. He was standing with an African American officer. They were both dressed alike, except instead of wearing the standard police cap he had on a yalmulke. He also had those curls hanging down alongside his ears. They weren't very long--the curls, I mean.

Thank you for your response. I thought as much because I once lived in NY and thats the only place where I witnessed jews like the guy you described. You will never see that in Chicago.

During my morning commute I was watching a lecture (on my personal media player) on Civil Liberties and the Bill of Rights given by Prof. John E. Finn. The lecture was called "Slavery and Dred Scott to Equal Protection."

When the train got to my stop, I turned off the video and switched to music. I decided to listen to my "Faves" playlist. I scrolled through the songs and selected one without looking. Of the 30+ songs on the list I'd randomly chosen "Free Man" by South Shore Commission.

How could you tell he was Hasidic? The curls are for Orthodox Jews in general, right? I didn't think they were limited to Hasidim.

Ma'at Hotep Santa St. Cloud,

MAY GOD, THE CREATOR, BE WITH YOU ALWAYS. I will appreciate you telling me where I can find this lecture and also the South Shore Commission CD because it is out of print. I recall the song but was some time back and I would like to add it to my collection. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Hotep.
