I just thought I should put it out there that this woman is bipolar and has been off her medication for a while. Though she has recently been apprehended and given her medication and supervision. Now I don't know about the "dirty" south, but I've got family in the south and this video represents none of the women I've met. But like I said I don't know about the "dirty" south.

As an ATL native, the correct phrasing is:

ATL Hoodrat aka Soulja Girl Goes Crazy on MARTA

use of the when referring to MARTA clearly indicates a transplant. Just trying to help you blend in if you're ever in the A visiting...

beer

This was on the news a few days ago. I think she just needed a hug and kiss

See, when you go out, always take your medication, first.

Need I say that if the old woman was white instead of black, the AJC’s biased editors would demand to know what MARTA planned to do to ensure the safety of “the public”?

Food for thought. 19

Thanks for enlightening us on the source of this young woman's problems. Without the context, watching the video makes you cringe. Knowing that maybe society shares the blame makes you shake your head ... especially when we are so quick to throw a label like "hoodrat".

~She's lucky to even be ALIVE. She just about flipped out on the WRONG ONE. The RIGHT ONE happend to be this elderly lady that just let her have her spell. The dude that grabbed her by the hair/head a few moments later, that could have gotten much, MUCH worse.

Did the elderly woman know the "context" of this girl's rant, and that's why she ignored her? Or was it a strong and crazy vs. weak, that kept the old woman quiet? With ALL the craziness that is seen 24/7 on public transportation, who can legitimately "shake their heads" at people that have disparaging remarks about the behavior? Nine times out of ten the obnoxious displays are PURELY about bad attitude and agression, or the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. NONE OF THEM have a medical I.D. around their necks to let their victims know that they are mentally ill and just don't want to take their medicine because it makes them move slow as was this particular girl's reason (per her sister).

But, yeah, heads can be shaken after the fact. Hind sight is 20/20. Without the context of her mental history being made known to everybody on the train PRIOR to the rant, she was DEFINITELY displaying the hoodrat-ism that just so happens to be quite COMMON in similar situations and circumstances. Like ANOTHER youtube video showing a group/gang of black youth harassing a male nonblack passenger on NY's subway. The public can't be blamed for not being psychics or mind-readers or the All Knowing God. Being slow too move/react will get you killed when confronted with somebody like that, be it due to a legitimate illness, OR drugs and alcohol. Violence is violence. I hope she can be MADE to take her medicine, or given a prescription for a "non-drowsy" formula. Eek~

What?

Bi-polar or not, she's still a damned hoodrat! Her medical condition changes NOTHING.

What i would like to know is, why did it take so long for anybody to say anything to the girl? She should have been tackled and bound up at the wrists, waiting on the crazy people white van at the next train stop.

fro CLEARLY this young woman has issues....she mentioned being "raped" and I suspect that even if she OFF her medication....this is the SIDE EFFECTS of what happens when the medication is in your system....and reacts when you stop taking them. It does SOMETHING to the brain. And for those of you who thinks this is typical behavior....SHAME ON YOU! This young woman has mental problems as a result of things we know NOTHING about. Don't hate on her, pray that she gets the help she needs....she is someone's daughter...and most importantly she is a human being. I'm not justifying her harassment toward the older woman [and if she would have hit her that's another story entirely and] who in their RIGHT mind behaves like this unless there's something wrong? You see homeless people behave like this young woman ALL THE TIME! I see irrate mothers all day long....and there is NOTHING to compare with this young girl state of mind. She is suffering mentally. And more and more in todays world, we are witnessing our young people being diagnosed as "bipolar".....but the drugs being treated for this disorder....sometimes are DEADLIER than the actual condition. And they use this term to experiment on our young people...not caring about the ramifications. For me, it's not funny or something to "gossip" about to see someone spinning out of control...what this is.....is tragic and sad. And hopefully, when one of our family members react like this, we can try to give/offer them or direct them towards the HELP they need....instead of "hatin" or makin' fun. fro

I feel sorry for her medical issues and all, but find it strange that her 'issues' seemed to conspicuously calm down, and she was all of a sudden 'ready to go' when the male passenger pulled her by her head and let her know he wasn't the one to play wih. All that ish-talking seemed to go on with the elderly female who wasn't combative/responsive, not a coincidence IMO. sck

fro As we all know Sista OA....women are not as much a THREAT as a MAN....and is why people go NUTS with women more so than with MEN! For example...a CRAZY man will follow a WOMAN around and taunt HER....than he would a MAN...he may be off his rocker but he's not STUPID! Even mentally disturbed individuals KNOW when to pick and chose their battles...as in this case. The moment this young woman was challenged by a MALE...she stepped down and became the so called "victim." She knew enough NOT to get involved with a MAN.... 'Remember she said she was RAPED...and immediately accused him of being the rapist. That statement within itself convinced me she FEARED men more than she FEARED a defenseless woman. But....just my two cents....is all. fro

fro That, too. And also if the black girl was a WHITE girl....the media would quickly have indicated that she was MENTALLY DISTURBED and harmless. sck Many of us [blackfolks] are so QUICK to rush to judgement of our own KIND before actually knowing the FACTS. yeah ...but how crazy/disturbed are they if they know precicely who to be crazy with? This girls case because of the rape may be different, and her fear of the male may be more 'explainable' and therefore understandable... but I deal with mentally ill people all day (working in a downtown library that's automatic). Many seem to know exactly who to get crazy with. This leads me to believe, that they still have a certain amount of a rational thinking process, and are 'letting loose' with only those individuals who they feel they can get away with it... Which makes them and their behavior not so irrational and/or excusable IMO.
