Peace.....

I was looking for a section where members post their own personal poetry.....

I thought I saw one.....

but now its too hard to look.....

There are threads on poetry.... but I didn't see any dedicated only for the members creative works.......

So I would like to dedicate this thread to all member poetry.... poetic thought.... or just original verse---streams of thought.....

Here is mine:

JANEL'S SONG

In the abyss.......
Next to Iblis......
Amiss....
Amongst the peace of all of this.....
Would be remiss.....
If I didn't allow the kiss.....
Of the One who could save me.........

Peace,
Virtue

Beautiful.

Packed with many layers of frustration, hope, pain, and expectation...Brilliant.

Okay....here is one of my own

So sweet is this Siren

clean and so refined

Blind to all else am I

Flying is how I lure her

sacredness whispered upon the seas

Thus the Breeze is seized by rapture

captured she falls upon me

sleep she rests in seeming peace

feasting upon her wonder

Thunder breaks my stare

The heavens beckon for her return

Burned I throw my hands away

dismayed she leaps into the lonely Night

Bright she lights a path for me....

The Joy Ride

Hitting a ditch,
Soaring like a crippled bird,
Through thin Crayola blue air.

The blind two-wheeled chariot tumbles
and groans in agony,
Anticipating the jagged stones below.

We laughed and mocked the dodo,
Flapping and teasing,

Oblivious to our ever approaching doom.

through a haze of smoke
tons of black heads
bop to a concealed cry
of liberty
black heads shuffle
and strut, bow, and scrape
to the Jim Crow of
living a beat
living a riff
jumping off a ledge
for the momentary thrill-fear-joy
before crashing back into
the march of surviving

I wail like Charlie's music stick
No money, no job
but my peoples dig
They're on the corner
wailing too
Different corners,
same cry,
same bop,
same joys,
same pains,
same life.

Improvisations on Women
(What I Learned This Decade)

I gaze into your eyes,
And find me and everything I'm not.
I drown in the warmth of your earthy stare.

Don't want a love affair.

The way you turn a phrase,
Leaves me in a daze for days.
The tone you've honed,
Never leaves me alone,
Always makes me feel at home.

Don't want a love affair.

I beam when I lock onto,
The bouncy bop of your big brown behind.
As it bumps and grinds
to the pulse of the muddy bass.
I love to place my face
In the firm, fleshy rise
between your thighs.
Keeps me tantalized, hypnotized, magnetized,
Satisfied.

Don't want a love affair.

Damn the radio and kill the D.J.'s
Cuz they don't know nothing about love.
Their silly soliliquys leave me still.
Unmoved.
You can't fathom the depths of the loves I feel.
Hard as steel. Unreal. Peeled.
And at the core is not
You,
or Me.
But us, we, exploring more
than love affairs.

The needle drops
and
that
comfortable skip
staccato static
stuttering pop
whispers in my ear
like
my Stylistics album
when I'm listening to
Betcha By Golly Wow-

But I don't know you

Across the chaos
Your voice calls my
name
like the sirens of the
ancient seas

Who are you?

Isis incarnate-
And not that actress
with the plastic bracelets
that came on Saturday morning
when you were eating your
Sugar Smacks

Supple, firm
with strong experienced eyes
that recall the
sugar rush
sunshiny
hide and seek
freeze tag
first kiss
of not being grown

Lips that issue words
numbingly sweet and deceptively simple

I greedily consume your offerings
Longing that they
bring me closer to the forever orgasm
of
living with you
loving with you
yelling with you
laughing, crying
even
dying with you

The goddess greets me
Arms outstretched like the Ankh
But I won't play Set
and slice your Osiris into
a million jealous pieces
because I covet you

So I close my eyes
and become your everything
You consume my heart
like the last summer strawberry
with cream
And we both get
Pixy Stick high

And practice our passions
in my mind
Because everytime I see my Isis
She is with her Osiris
And I won't play Set
and slice him into
a million jealous pieces
because I covet you

sometimes there's a last moment, a stumble, before brushing one self off and moving on...

A poem that has no consequence... for R

My lips are parched, my head, my heart, and my eyes burn. My soul is in flames.
I'm still thirsty for your love.
Although I know it will/won't quench the fire or the thirst.
Your smile, your touch, is now out of reach.
So hard to push you away. Sigh. You made the choice for me. I had to.

I know Spring is coming... but it seems so far away (here in the southern hemisphere)...
I have winter to endure first, before renewal.
Right now, renewal without you seems bleak. A misery.
Loveless. Empty. Hollow. Colourless.
Growth almost seems futile, not fertile, lonely.
My spirit struggled to be free of you...
Because it must be. I must grow and feel away from you.

Not because I want to... because I have to.

.
[yep, today was let-it-out day]

I am glad I happened upon this thread, I did not really know where I could post and reply to poetry. Here is one of mine.

Beyond Friends

Sometimes you meet a person
You conversate and then you know
That beyond friends
Is where the relationship will go
You share special secrets
You create a sacred bond
And of the person
You becom very fond
All day long you sit,
You imagine
You dream
Waiting for the chance to bond sexually
Making each other cream
Heightening the sexual arousal
By tender talk and foreplay
Lingering on each others words
Wondering what the other will say
Could this lead to wedded bliss
We don't really know
One thing we know for certain
We don't even have to say
That beyond friendship is where we are going
And beyond friendship we will stay.

SOME MANY PEOPLE HATE THE RAIN
BUT I HAVE LEARNED TO LOVE IT.
THE SMELL OF IT
THE TOUCH OF IT
IT TOUCHES MY FACE WHEN I WALK
IT HELPS THINGS GROW
NOTHING IS SWEETER THAN WALKING WITH SOMEONE IN THE RAIN
IT MAKES YOU SMILE
YOU CAN CRY IN THE RAIN AND NO ONE WILL KNOW BUT YOU AND I
IT WASHES AWAY MY SADNESS
IT MAKES ME FEEL PURE
I LOVE THE RAIN
IT'S ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEED IT
I THINK THE RAIN WAS MADE TO COVER US
WHEN WE NEED IT THE MOST
SO NOW WHEN PEOPLE SAY I HATE THE RAIN
I LAUGH
I SMILE
I KNOW ITS IMPORTANCE
WILL YOU DANCE WITH ME IN THE RAIN?

AFFECTED…..

youthful, with depth; rigid, with flexibility
intense, and relaxed you put me at ease
and on edge
a beautiful mind within a hemisphere
I dare not go near

coded, I decrypt connotations in between
your verbal script
I see how; obviously blind I must be
exposing my eyes
to your scenery

hidden I reveal
a secret in the open
unpeeled
I try and hold it together,
for if it is loosed, the struggle it will take to contain it
will not be for the better

Alas, from afar
so close you are
and yet, timely
I realize
that I missed the boat; won't sink, will float
admiration will be my demise….

I lean forward just to turn away, from the pull of your push
regaining my composure
“Okay now”, said in relief
rooted in solid ground
constantly searching for a fissure
a way to justify my pleasure

The negative, positive Ionic allure
as this magnetic field
causes turbulent strain
resistance is futile; reawakening the alchemy
sealing fate
toiling in vain

respecting the harness that bounds you
while unshackling my former chains
though forlorn in the water I remain

arrival at an island
as a mirage
we remain

you tethered and me free.....

Peace,
Virtue
