Based upon what? Your own ignorance and stupidity? I won't call you a liar about this, because your only claim here is a claim about your own state of mind, and you have made it quite clear that your mind is not functioning properly, so I have no way of knowing just what nonsense you might be certain of.
You are a liar.
Again, you are a liar, plain and simple. I sugest that you stick to statements about your own pathetic little state of mind, and not try to make assertions (ie: lies) about others. Have some respect for Black women, Wiz. Stop lying about them.

Holding up my hand! I do get what the brotha means by "nigga," which is not at all opposed to "real man" except I personally detest the term "real man" and how it marginalizes Black men whom many would say do not fit. Beyond the semantics, though, what is very hard to miss is Wiz's consistent love for Black women. Given the context of this board, that matters. He's a nigga--and a smart, sweet, talented and from the pic---a purty

How do you define n*gga? Peace, Khalliqa "The Goddess emerges as the evanescence of the inferior dissipates.... " |

I probably should have been more precise and said I detest the connotation of the phase "real man" and how it is used to marginalize. Lemesee...to me a nigga is simply a regular everyday brother who loves and takes care of his family and community, lives his life, develops his interests without having to align with dogma, or program. |

Doesn't this marginalize someone who deems the word offensive.. but who also takes care of family, community and lives his life, developing interests without having to align with what he perceives as dogma? Peace, Khalliqa "The Goddess emerges as the evanescence of the inferior dissipates.... " |

Your description of the father and son and how role models can be the wrong models sometimes is right on. I saw a program on TV where gang members talked about how from the time their kids came into the world all that surrounded them was gang themes even to dressing out their toys in the gang's colors, filling the house with gang symbols, etc. These kids grew up not knowing anything other then the gang life that their parents were part of, thus ensuring that the cycle never truly ended.

Um, Momzed, How can the term "nigga" be less detestable than "real man"? I know no regular, everyday, taking care of things, handling his biz type of brothas that prefer to be called "niggas" or even "99's" with the exception of Wiz. When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak Audre Lord |

~That puzzled me, too. But, Momzed's reference to the term "real man" seemed to bring to my mind a black woman V.S. a black man conversation. Many conversations. Real ones. Written ones. Scripted ones. Conversations that I was involved in myself. In a heated "black" conversation such as those, the use of the term "real man" would UNDOUBTEDLY incite more anger than using the term "nigga" EVER would. Cuts right to the quick. So, I get what Wiz and Momzed are saying as it relates to US in the black community ---- the meaning and use of both terms. In such a sense, it doesn't mean what it means/meant to and for racist whites. But, I don't like the word. I get it, the use of it, though. Try as you or I or anyone might, to get rid of the word, it simply is NOT used as the "racist insult" that it was used for at it's origin and beginnings --- not when WE use it, that is. But, to make a reference to a black man's ACTUAL MANHOOD with "real man" references --- you better duck. I hate motherfucker, too. But...we love to use this.*shrug* Black Butterfly, sailed across the waters tell your sons and daughters what the struggle brings Black Butterfly, set the skies on fire rise up even higher so the ageless winds of time can catch your wings ----Deniece Williams |

True dat. And if you peep this, you know that there is nothing remotely niggerized about that nigga Wiz, and I dare anyone to test that. I despise any hollering out of "real" this or "real" that as it's subjective, though proponents may say that those who are truly enlightened know what they mean by "real". Well real niggas know too what a real nigga goes through, and that is subsequently the life of a nigga. ************************* I don't believe that for a minute! |

Well, I dare anyone to read anything more into my statement about Wiz than I actually wrote. He does indeed refer to himself and regular round the way fellas as "niggas" or "99's". That is an indesputable fact. When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak Audre Lord |

you right about "you better duck" when references to "real man" or "real woman" are made. I'll add "ain't man enough" or "ain't woman enough" When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard or welcomed. But when we are silent, we are still afraid. So it is better to speak Audre Lord |

I make no assumptions about whether you were undermining his choice or not. I'm sure it was just an observation. ************************* I don't believe that for a minute! |

Your abuse of that word makes you look like a damn idiot. There is nothing sexy about being a "nigga" as opposed to being the type of man that a decent woman would prefer. You are too damn old to be referring to yourself in that manner anyway and you should be focused on making yourself look like an intelligent Black man (if that's possible). And no, you aren't going to see me raising my hand talking about how much I love "niggas" because I have a more advanced vocabulary than that and I can find plenty of other ways to say: I love ANY man of ANY race who respects me and himself, and treats me the way I deserve to be treated. I love ANY man of ANY race who sees me as a partner and who wants to work with me to tackle life's obstacles together. I love ANY man of ANY race who respects my opinions whether he agrees with them or not, and appreciates my doing the same with him. And you want to talk about my disrespect for posting up a picture of someone I love, and here you are using terms such as sand nigga and yella nigga and all kinds of ignorant shit that makes whatever (rare) logical arguments you may have had in the past deserve no credit whatsoever?? And as far as me not saying your name, get used to my blatant disobedience because the last time I checked you weren't my daddy and THANK GOD for that.

Scary.
Obviously if that's the only response you can come up with, you may be more of a little girl than I. Who knows... Of course, I'm guessing you'd still be SOOO much prouder to be referred to as a "nigga". ***************************************************** "There's no original evil left in the world.
