First my statement, just watched part of a movie "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" I have seen many documentaries etc concerning these things, there was a series on pbs before called "The West" in that series much was highlighted concerning the taking of land etc etc, the killings the attempted genocide etc etc. We also as a people have endured much sadness and murder at the hands of oyinbo (whites) and yet it continues. Ok my question given the same set of circumstances that existed then ie the wanting of land and resources do you believe the oyinbo would react the same today as then. I personally believe they would (and still do) they will never change (my opinion) look at aids infection as we know it was planned, look at the epidemic of crack and other drug addiction in our hoods, as we also know it is documented that the US govt introduced crack to our community, another form of genocide at any rate what do you think, me personally once a white man always a white man (woman too) Yes i am mellower thanI was before but at the same time i am no fool. When you do not do what oyinbo want you will see the change. trust me on that (the voice of experience)
Ifaleye This was responses I recieved which I agree with. Any answers after this I have not seen the movie "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" or the documentary "The West." However, I am very aware of the genocide and the "taking of the land." I think there is more to be done than just complain because that will not stop the problem. My question is, at what point do we come together as one and clean our own home? We all or most of us know about the problem but what is the solution? Tribalism will not cure the problem. We have to revive our mind in order to change things. Yes, there is crack on the streets and we are drowning in crime and poverty and the problem is not just in the U.S or Africa but it is all over the Caribbean.. Now, where do we start to clean up our yard? With what weapon are we going to fight if we are mentally asleep? Can we get all black people to agree with one type of progressive change regarless of their tribes/nationality? I maybe wrong but I believe human beings (who are disconnected from the inner source (black, white or purple) are are all something else when it comes to power NOT just white people. I think if we also acknowledge our own faults we might have a chance to clean up for our future. We know history. We know how we got to the West. We know that we are being exploited. Now, what do we do to solve the problem? How do we do it? Let's come up with a solution to the problem. I crave SOLUTION. _________________ "There's hope. It doesn't cost a thing to smile. You don't have to pay to laugh. You better thank God for that." I said Ase ase ase, Having a solution that can be agreed upon, sad thing is we all think we are right (including me) There is solution but I also believe it will be first spiritual then translate into physical. How I think I know but that is my belief that not all will buy into how to compromise that is what is hard for us. Ire Ifaleye They said Hence, we are back to square 1...See, that's the problem ...we need collective work. Without harmony, we'll only sing bad tunes. Once we learn how to unite in love, we'll prosper. However, if we stay disconnected in self-hatred we'll perish. I said Ase ase ase, so help a brother out how can one over come these ostacles of resistance, feel me. What is our common ground. (not speaking of you per se) but what is our problem why are we so stubborn, I speak about us who want to bring change who want to see change. Whats our problem to compromise? is it because none of us have come up with a good enough solution for all? They said I don't have all the answers for all of our problems . However, i do feel strongly about these points. 1-Ego is problem # 1 2-Even the people who say they want change have their own definition of "change." Change must be more than just land and power. We need to start acknowledging the Creator of the land, the source who gives the ultimate power to get wealth. 3-Each one of us must realize that we will never be "a KING or a QUEEN" running a private village in the west. 4-But most of all... We need to first face fact...We must find our identity... Remember we are CREOLIZATION. We are a bunch of DIASPORA people lost in the west. And before we can change things HERE as a group---we need to PERSONALLY go inside THE SELF and do some soul searching. Then, we need to connect with those who care about same issues but guess what? Talk is cheap. We need financial freedom. 5-We need to stop buying sneakers for $200.00 and save our money for better things (like education & business). How can a people lead without financial freedom? See, back in the days during the time of slavery we used to revolt eventhough we were broke but today is a new day--Yesterday's truth may not be todays truth. Earth is a material place and we need to eat and meet our needs. At times i feel, even living life is a war within itself! Many of us have money but we don't spend it wisely. In my opinion, I think each one of us can work extra hard to establish financial freedom for our own family. If each of us aim for that then many of us can connect our resources and make an impact in the community. 6-Also, we need to stop lying to our children. We need to teach them to take resposibility for own part in this whole mess and not blame others only. Give them enough information about the mother land and let them make their own judgement. Don't teach them to hate base on what you (parents) know. Teach them about false pride and real pride. Teach them about true love for the motherland and the fake romance that i often see in our communities. 7.Don't leave your children to teachers to teach ONLY. Do your part too. Have some kind of influence over what they learn. If you don't do your job--don't blame others. One more point. We need to come to fact that we are too tribal. We are in the west and we mentally segregate against our own. We need to realize that the world is not THE U.S---we have black people starving in Haiti and in many other parts of the Caribbean---many black people here don't care. They only care about their toast being warm enough to eat. It is so cold when you love your people and your people don't love you It is so cold when you want to free your people and they want to stay asleep It is so cold when you understand your people and your people don't undrstand you. Remember, there are many battles within the war and if we can't win the battles, how can we win the war? Anyway, let me stop here. All i can say is: There is hope but we must identify who we are and what we are fighting for. Your struggle may not be my struggle if you have food on your table everyday and I only have air to fluff up my belly. Let me share this picture with you. Thisis our brothers and sisters in the slums in Dominican Republic/Haiti From what I can see right in this picture, these brothers and sisters are fighting...poverty, human nature and the power of nature. Now I ask what do you say |

Did anyone see The King of Scotland? How Nasty can you be to your own people??....so trusting to others. Change?? I feel anyone can change. It's just WE can't wait around for ALL of them to do that. You have to overstand...they that do Think they have it good right now. Their tactics against us globally has won them fame and fortune. It looks good, feels good. That's why sooo many of our people are on that same road or trying to get there. You can't convince them otherwise. They took the pill. You have to be ready to die. Ask YO'Self.....Am I READY to DIE for what I believe and to help my people. Even the ones who have taken the pill needs help....they just don't get it. Revolution is a process not an event...
We are waiting for this mass concensus on the when, where, what and how (and for some of us, we are even waiting on the why)... There are numerous challenges that face our community and as with any war, battle, fight, engagement, skirmish, etc... there are several areas that require attention and action... seems to me just pick an area where you have the greatest passion, strength or skill and fight. If your arena is education start a charter school, open a day care, create an after school program, start a rites of passage, or create a curriculum that supports others in doing the aforementioned things. If your arena is finance and economics, start a credit union, investment club, financial counseling services, etc. We have to stop waiting for someone else to get the ball rolling, we have to stop focusing on whether others agree with your/our methods and just put the work in. Figure out what your theory of social change is, put an action plan together and manifest it. Do we think the people that we respect and use as quotes and signatures on this board waited for someone else or the masses to agree with their politics, worldview or methodology before putting in work? This board provides the perfect space and opportunity to network, build support systems, compare notes and place in motion any well laid plan to address whatever issue you find to be the biggest plight facing us as a people. Whether everyone agrees with you is beside the point. If you are in DC and you find 2 other people who see it the way you do, one in philly and the other in chitown, you now have the same plan of attack being carried out in 3 places. Seems simple to me. The situation we find ourselves in may be complicated, the steps needed to correct it or solve it really arent... All we need to do is be the pedagogues, revolutionaries, iconoclasts, pan-afrikanists, gods, earths, freedom fighters and activists we fancy ourselves to be. FYI, the Last King of Scotland(the movie) was based on a fictional novel, that had many a-historical aspects, like the Scottish guy... He didn't even exist... Always check the founders and creators of projects like this to see what their motivations are 'making' and distributing anything related to Africa... Hollyweird has been in bed with politics(the imperialist government/CIA) for years. Here is a link you might find interesting...
