Fab: This post was taken from another board that I visit, and I gotta give this soul sister her props. appl appl

When I read this, I felt it was worthy of sharing with this group. And since it was posted in a public forum, I have reposted here [deleting the screen name, of course].

Anyway, the sister is a force to be reckoned with, she carries herself well, she is VERY SMART, VERY intelligent and articulate.

Sorry, but as I said, I deleted the screen name, cause I won't divulge that information. I will simply refer to this beautiful black woman as "The Sister." Smile

Anyway. . .

Check her out:

Most Whts ....and even some unconscious blks are not going to receive Autumn's poem the same way. After all, her poem doesn't GLORIFY wht America's heros.......she calls them what they were.....monsters....vampires.....Is it any shock that some of us have this view of history? Is it any shock that whts find it offensive? The answer to both is NO! But if there is ever to be a real discussion of race relations, people have to understand that some of us are passionate about the atrocities our people experienced at the hands of whts in this country.

Does it mean ALL WHTS are monsters.......common sense should answer this question.......but whts aren't accustomed to have the truth put to them quite this way. I reread the child's poem and I didn't find anything falsehood in it. Perhaps some of you would have preferred she said it a little "nicer".....or that she was more mindful of not offending whts....but how long must blks repress their perspective in order to avoid offending wht people?

Also if any of you who are complaining had an iota of integrity you'd stop using the word racist to describe what you dislike about the child's poem......there has been enough discussion about racism on this board WITH CREDIBLE references that everyone should be able to tell the difference between racism, bigotry, bias, and prejudice..........And no.....what she has been taught is tnot the same thing as those hateful little wht girl singers.........nothing in the child's poem suggests hatred of wht people....she's talking about the people who did those things to her ancestors....what should she call them??? She used the imagery within her comprehension.......vampires....blood suckers......Here's the poem.....step by step...line by line.......what wasn't true....

Here ya go. . .

Autumn's poem

White Nationalism Put U In Bondage
White nationalism is what put you in bondage

Pirate and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin

Drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with

Steel, tricks and deceit.*snip

The Sister wrote:

Do you realize this is the same things we've been saying for years........race based slavery did not exist before europeans enslaved Africans.....the racial identity "wht" didn't exist before slavery.......europeans created a type of slavery that said if you are blk, your status is that of a slave.....that is what you are worth.....not human, but slave.....anyone who knows the atrocies committed by Columbus has no problem with likening him to a vampire.......slavers, so called "explorers" were no better than vampires....they profitted from the blood of innocent people of color around the world.....the book Guns, Germs and Steel, supports what the little girl says in reference to steel....swords, weaponry, gave them the advantage over native people.....they used tricker and deceit to subdue native people......The child didn't lie...

*snip* Nothing has changed take a look in our streets

The mis-education of she and Hegro leaves you on your knee2grow *snip*

The Sister wrote:

Do you even know what she's talking about here.......she's talking about the same thing we have been talking about for years......the mis-education of Blk people......the fact that some blks still don't know the truth about those so called heros teachers shove down their throats in public schools......consciousness, responsibilty and education is the difference between a blk mn and a kneegro.....That's why we still have some "kneegrows" running around today......yall dredge them up everytime you want to prove some nonsensical point......" look a blk mn said the same thing"...wasn't a blk mn, you dredge up kneegrows...

*snip* Black lands taken from your hands, by vampires with no remorse

They took the gold, the wisdom and all of the storytellers

They took the black women, with the black man weak

Made to watch as they changed the paradigm

Of our village

They killed the blind, they killed the lazy, they went

So far as to kill the unborn baby *snip*

The Sister wrote:

Again.....same topics we've talked about here dozens of times.....the exploitation of Africans.......europeans divided Africa like a "Great Cake"......look it up....why shouldn't she see them as vampires......how much blood did they shed in doing so.......and yes they took the gold, and other wealth Africa had to offer....Read " Things Fall Apart".....if you want to understand the rest....and yes, they did murder the sick, the elderly, and even unborn babies......both here and in Africa.......stories of babies being cut from a woman's womb.....I swear....some of yall have been posting here for years and still know no more than when you first began.......

*snip* Yeah White nationalism is what put you in bondage

Pirates and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin

They drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with

Steel laden feet, throw in the tricks alcohol and deceit.

Nothing has changed take a look at our streets.{B]~~~~~Autumn[/B]

The Sister wrote:

The people , blk people are being likened to sheep being lead to the slaughter.......the tricks, the alcohol and the deceit were methods europeans used to accomplish this horrendous feat........those of you who are complaining are trying to critique something you don't even understand.......you'd be better to critque the delivery, but you can't touch the content.......the child didn't lie.....the fact that it offends some of you or makes you feel uncomfortable is not important......lets see you talk about the terrorists of 9/11 in a favorable/ complimentary way.........one of the MAIN problems with race relations in America is that some whts, if not MOST are incapable of accepting the fact that there are those among us who REJECT the programming and don't see history the way WHT supremacy would like us to see it......what happened happened....it can't be changed, but I'll be d..... if we are obliged to candy coat it to avoid making whts feel uncomfortable....ask why you feel uncomfortable....because you FEAR retribution......YOU fear blks will hate you the way you'd hate people who had done that to your people.......

[Fab giving the Sister a standing ovation] appl appl appl appl

There's MORE. . .

The Sister wrote:

In reference to the Black Child Pledge:

Autum's performance also included commanding white students to remain seated as she led black students in a recitation of the "Black Child's Pledge," which reads in part:

I pledge allegiance to my Black People.
I pledge to develop my mind and body to the greatest extent possible.

I will learn all that I can in order to give my best to my People in their struggle for liberation.

I will discipline myself to direct my energies thoughtfully and constructively rather than wasting them in idle hatred

I will train myself never to hurt or allow others to harm my Black brothers and sisters

These principles I pledge to practice daily and to teach them to others in order to unite my People.*snip*

The Sister wrote:

yes, I can imagine how uncomfortable it must have been for whts to be told 'this wasn't for them'......I'd even go so far as to say considering the location....it was down right rude......and should have been reserved for a more homegenous venue......However, there is nothing "racist" about it....read what it says......the pledge is intended to raise blk conciousness....for those who remember a time when blks were more conscious....we didn't have the social problems in our community we have today.....at least not to the same degree.....Blk consciousness is not for WHTS.....blk kids need a wake up call.....they need to be reminded of who they are and who they decended from.......they need to become responsible and accountable for their actions , their failures and their accomplishment.......isn't that what some of you are always harping about.....so don't complain when efforts to awaken consciousness in the blk community are made.........it aint about YOU.

Fab: appl appl

Will somebody PLEASE relay this message to the white folk. Cause it AIN'T about them, and when it comes to black awareness--IT SHOULDN'T BE!
