I'm an early bird. Every morning I'm up by 4am to run my daily 3 miles. My goal is to run 5 miles. . .again.

Most times I forgo the treadmill to run at a public park or a track. And I alternate locations to avoid stalkers {hey, it's happened, and it took a whole year & a restraining order to get the guy to leave me the hell alone}

Anyway, in this forum I'll share my 'morning runs' with y'all. . .Now, isn't that exciting? LOL. I'm sure.

btw. . .GOOD MORINING PEOPLE!!! Smile

So... Fabulous...do you do a warm-up routine first? I can imagine you carrying a water-pistol for any unwanted attention. Zap! Big Grin

Hi FireFly. . .gurl, it's not so bad. Smile I'm used to getting up early. And truth be told, I am SOOOOOOOO HAPPY that I can walk (pain free)...therefore, 'running' is icing on the cake for me.

And yes, I do warm-ups, as well as stretches before starting. The first mile I walk. . .then I run the next three....my last mile is a cooling down period--which I walk. I feel like a million bucks when I'm done. Smile

Although it's a total of 5 miles, I'm only running 3.

As for the water-pistol...I do carry something for protection, but I also meet with a small group (most times), so I'm usually not alone. My brother or my ex-husband are known to meet with me too--sometimes. Smile

My stalker was a man I met on the Internet, he used spyware via email...& once he had enough info ... he tracked me down and one day showed up at my doorstep--smiling & confessing his love. I was shocked to say the least. He knew my routine well, which is why I never run in the same place, consecutively.

GOOD MORNING PEOPLE!!! {waving}

It was COLD out there this morning, although, I did forget to mention that I don't run on Fridays--oops--sorry 'bout that folks.

Instead, I go to the gym to play racquetball with a friend of mine on Fridays (with the purpose of working the upper body). So, actually, my schedule is as follows: I run Monday thru Thursday. . .and again on Saturday.

On Fridays I get my butt whipped by a man who should be ASHAMED of his damn self for whippin' on po lil ole ME...the way he does.

He says it wouldn't be right to go easy on me, it wouldn't challenge me. Whatever. What I DO know is, after 2 months of playing racquetball with him, I'm tired of getting my a** whipped.

Sorry folks, I know I've been neglecting this area of my blog. The truth is, I haven't been in the mood for posting my morning runs.

It could be PMS, who knows Smile But I'll return at a later date. Smile

In the meantime, BE SAFE out there. Smile

I enjoy saying good morning too, but I never give a thought to what time it is anywhere else. There are simply too many different time zones to consider. lol

hope you get back to your morning routine... esp now you're heading through Spring... we're heading through Autumn

Thank you for the encouragement, Ms. FireFly. You are a very sweet lady. Smile

I'm still doing my morning routine everyday, I'm just not in the mood to 'post' on the topic, at the moment. 14

I really DO think it's PMS.

I'm looking around for some 'chocolate' as we speak. 4

Good Morning my sister... (it's morning somewhere in the world dammit!!)

I was just reading about your stalker episode and I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing the whole experience with us... How it started, the spyware, thoughts, fears, what you did to get rid of him, lessons learned... Maybe under a separate header?

If you don't want to "re-live" the experience I completely understand, but I think that the info would be invaluable to many...

Peace,

AudioGuy

Greetings to you, my Brother Smile

No, I don't mind sharing my stalker experience--it is no longer emotionally stressful for me. There was a time when I felt apprehension when it came to sharing this experience on the internet, but only because I thought somehow my stalker would read my words, and then start harassing me again. Goodness, just the thought would make me tired. LOL. I no longer feel this way.

I'll tell the story later today. . . 3

I appreciate your comments, brother Audio, and thanks for making me laugh. . .without a doubt, you are absolutely right, "it's morning somewhere in the world dammit." laugh

Good morning, people. . .

As I type this . . . it's about 4:15 am (PST). . .I'm up & almost ready for my run. I had to check the weather on the computer first, though, cause the sista gotta know what she's dealing with out there--weather wise. Smile

Anyway, It's dark outside and a little chilly (as usual) but I love the peacefulness of this time in the morning.

"Crazy," I know Smile

I've decided to run at a high school track this morning. The track is OK, but there's a whole different "vibe" there--much different from the Park.

OK, I'll check y'all later.

TUESDAY. . .

I returned from my 'run' feeling great, as is the norm for me. It feels good to know that I've put in my time.

It's important to me--an investment in my own physical well being. . .

So I get my butt UP and go! I do my thang. Today my 'thang' was the track. . .

. . .and without a doubt, the vibe of the track is oh so different.

There are no birds chirping in trees nearby (there are no trees), there is no scent of fresh grass, or fresh flowers, or the sound of a water sprinkler. . .

But there IS the 'feel' of the track beneath my feet, which I find to be more forgiving on the knees.

Fab <<<~~~~~ walked 2, ran 3 Smile

Have a great day everyone, I'm OUT!

Good morning people. . .It's Monday.

. . .and guess what?!? It's raining in my neck of the woods. Smile

For me this means using the treadmill, instead of going to a park or track. Normally, I despise using the treadmil.

I LOVE the rain though. . .and I could hear it pouring down as I ran, I could also hear the wind blowing through the trees. It was nice.

I find it is yet 'another' vibe listening to the rain while running on the treadmill. . .

I wasn't 'bored' as is usually the case for me, which is why I will use the treadmill only when I absolutely have to. The treadmill bores the hell out of me.

But today there was a different flow of energy going on, due to the rain. An energy that served to strengthen me and give me an extra kick to my step.

In the end, when I stepped off that treadmill this morning, I felt sweaty. . .but strong.

Fab <<<~~~~ walked 2, ran 2 [45 minutes on the treadmill)

TUESDAY

Good morning people Smile

I'm up and out of the house by 4:30 am this morning, and it's cold & dark outside (as usual). The rain from yesterday left the park's surface too damp--so it's the track for me.

However, just in case I'm mistaken about the track being dry, I decide to wear a kneepad on my left knee. The very last thing I intend to do is re-injure myself running on a wet surface; inviting a slip & fall type of thing.

I get there and the usual group of folks are present. We greet each other but nothing else is said. I do my 15 minutes of stretching and then I'm off. Today in lieu of music, I run with only my thoughts; solving all the problems in the world in the first lap (yeah ok, not ALL the world's problems. Ha!).

By the time I descend into the last lap; the winding down period. . .I've worked out a situation that has been on my mind for days now. Suddenly the answer is there. . .I can see clearly what I need to do.

Indeed exercise is good for the body, as well as the mind & also the soul.

'til next time.

WESDNESDAY

Good morning people,

My energy levels were very low this morning. I couldn't seem to get it in gear, in fact, I had to talk myself into getting out of bed. Oh, and I did something I NEVER do before a run, I drank a cup of coffee. OMG!!!!! {smacking self}

What was I thinking??? I 'wasn't' thinking THAT was the problem.

Anyway, I get out there and I walk the first mile as usual, BUT just as I decide to pick up the pace a bit, I had to pee---BADLY.

Yep, that's right. It's not a good idea (for me) to drink just before a run. I tried to hold it in as long as I could, but the longer I ran the more uncomfortable it became.

I don't like using public restrooms, so the ladies room wasn't an option, or so I thought. . .

. . .Because before I could complete my 3 miles of running, I had to pee so badly, a tree somewhere would've done just fine.

So I ran. . .as fast as I could to the ladies room, hoping I'd make it there in time before wetting my pants.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

{crossing legs}

By the time I could get into a stall, I was doing the happy dance (ladies, y'all may know what I'm talkin' 'bout). You know...sorta squeezing your legs together as you hop around. Hop, squeeze, hop, squeeze....

. . .doing all this while tryna pull your panties down at the same time AND before it's too late to make any difference.

To make matters worse, I lost time by placing a cover on the toilet seat, a seat I wasn't planning to use anyway. And then, I flushed the toilet (which I always do when & if I'm forced to use a public facility), OMG!!!!! the sound of water flushing nearly sent me over the edge.

Finally, when I 'could' let it go, 'release' felt soooooo GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!! oh gawd, yes, it felt too damn good to be real. Thank you jesus. There is a god. lol

I was on a natural high by this time. Smile feeling much better. . . but not enough to continue the course. . .

After handling my business in the ladies room, I walked one lap (almost ashamed of myself) and called it a day.

Dang, some days. . .it just be like dat, uknowwhatimsayin'toya? lol

Fab <<<~~~~~~ walked 2 miles, ran 1 1/2.

Correction: walked "1" mile and some change. lol

FRIDAY

I enjoy playing racquetball. Smile I really do. My Friday mornings are spent in the gym playing racquetball with a fire fighter.

He's in excellent shape of course. . .outweighs me by a 100 pounds, stronger than I could ever hope to be . . . the odds of beating him are totally against me.

However, today I decided to tip the scales in my favor a bit, by pulling the oldest trick in the book and it worked.

Well, nearly. . .

I didn't win but I didn't get beat as badly either. Unfortunately, he caught on and dangit! Pulled himself together. He refuses to give me a break. . .

Ahhhhh, but next week he doesn't stand a chance, I plan to UP my game plan. Smile Nah, I don't care about beating him fair & square. . .

I'm accomplishing what I set out to do--I'm working the upper body and the results are amazing. . .I get a good sweat, & a good workout. I feel great!!!

. . .sooooooooooo I see nothing wrong with a little "trickery" in this instance.

I see nothing wrong with playing on his weakness (& he has one). . .to win at least ONE GAME. I'm gonna get him GOOD next week. Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Smile

omg! I feel a Michael Jackson moment comin' on me: you know I'm bad, I'm bad, you know I'm really bad. . .I said, I'm bad, I'm bad, you know I'm really bad.

(flips hair)
(spins around)

LOL.
