My dear brother BV hug . . . It's a "woman" thang and unfortunately, I am sworn to secrecy.

Supposedly, I can only share the 'secret' with another woman--those are the rules and they are written in stone Smile or so the story goes.

Ahhhhh. . .but for YOU, dear BV. . .I may just break the rules. 19

TUESDAY

Ahhh mannnnnnnnnnn, I got a late start today.

Instead of getting up at 4:00 am, I didn't roll out of the bed until 6 am--missing most of the 'early morning' vibe I've come to enjoy. In fact, it was warm outside. Almost too warm.

BUT, I could smell the Sperm trees aka Semen trees. Smile Most folks (or so they say) cannot stand or tolerate the smell of Sperm trees. In fact, there was an article written earlier this year about these trees. . .and how so many ppl complain about them.

Personally, I don't understand it. Sperm trees are great, imo. I love the scent.

Maybe I'm one of those ppl who simply enjoys the smell of sperm. . .trees. Smile

I DO know. . .when I took those deep cleansing breaths this morning, I caught a whiff of Sperm tree in the air, and it was pleasing to the senses.

So much so that I ran an extra half a mile. See, the aroma of the Sperm tree will do that to me. lol

Besides, I think I'm ready to push it up a notch anyway. Smile

Fab: <<<~~~~~walked 2 miles, ran 3 1/2 miles.

Good mornin' good people. . .

It was simply BEAUTIFUL out there this morning.Smile

Well, this could BE because I went to one of my favorite parks this morning. It's a nice park, a lot smaller than the other parks I frequent, but it has a pond filled with exotic fish and a nice waterfall.

Goodness, I LOVE the sound of the waterfall. . .and I felt rejuvenated each time I ran by.

When I arrived about 4:45 am, the park was empty, except for the park Ranger. The only sounds I could hear. . .were the birds chirping in the trees and of course. . .the waterfall.

No traffic, no talking, no music...ahhh mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

I went to this particular park because I needed an extra push today. And, once I completed my last cooling down lap, I stood for a moment to watch the fish...

. . .swimming in groups. . .in unison.

Beautiful! Smile

Now, I realize the thought of watching (cough) fish swim may seem boring to some, but I find it very soothing to my soul. . .It takes me to a quiet place within myself. . .

preparing me. . .

. . .for the rest of the day.

Have a good one, y'all. I'm OUT!

Well. . .for now. Smile

For the record & before I go. . . most people do NOT care for these trees--many do not like the smell.

I'm just weird like that. Smile And "sperm" is an appropriate description of the scent from this tree.

Well, a "healthy" Sperm tree, that is.

As with the 'sperm' in men. . .a lot depends on the man's diet.

Because an unhealthy Sperm tree INDEED smells bad.

Thursday!!!!!!

My dogs barking loudly in the backyard woke me up this morning, earlier than usual. I turned to look at the clock--it was 3:30 am.

I don't like getting to the park any earlier than 4:30 am, so I had time to burn. Goodness, I could actually drink a glass of water without worrying about the need to pee during my run. ek Believe me, ain't nothing like tryna 'run' when your bladder's full. Yikes. Smile

Once I changed into my 'running' gear, I noticed the treadmill in the corner (possibly collecting dust) and I was 'almost' tempted to stay home.

I didn't, though. . .cause I was meeting my youngest brother today. Smile

cabbage Hey now. . .I made sure I didn't forget my ipod, so I could listen to some music. Smile

Normally, I don't listen to music until 'later' in the morning (while at the park). I've learned the importance of keeping my eyes & ears open to everything around me.

BUT, my brother was meeting me today. . .

. . .and of course he has my back.

I can remember a time when he thought I was a crazy lady because I got up so early 'just to run.' Nowadays, he'll walk & run right along with me. Then, too, my brother thought I was crazy back in high school, when I'd get up at 5 am to ride my bike for an hour, before leaving for school.

He knows I can't help myself, sorta speak. lol

Anyway, my brother & I walked the first mile together, and then he was off. I don't even try to keep up with him. My 5 miles today was 8 miles for him.

And ya know what? My 'little' brother may get on my nerves from time to time. . .but I enjoy his company. . .we don't see each other often enough. He's closer to my age than my other brothers, and we get along great.

He's actually a real cool brutha, my brother. Smile

Fab <<~~~~~~walked 2 miles, ran 3 miles.

Good morning, people Smile

I worked until 3 am, so the very LAST thing I felt up to doing this morning (when I finally made it home), was going somewhere to run. lol Goodness gracious, I ain't THAT crazy. Smile

Instead, I tried to get some sleep and was able to get in about 4 hours. When I woke up, I decided to work on my garden a bit. . .before it became too HOT to do anything but sweat.

I LOVE working in my garden, though, it's a very soothing activity for me.

Anyway~ it's not as hot as it has been. . .there's an overcast. . .and it's a little gloomy outside. . .still, it's a beautiful day nonetheless.

Every day is a beautiful day, as far as I'm concerned. Smile As long as I have my health & strength and my loved ones are well--I'm digging it!

Have a good one, y'all. . .'til tomorrow

BE SAFE.

Good morning people, it's WEDNESDAY!!!!

I went to one of the larger parks today and wow, it seemed as if everybody and their mama was out there--and at 5 am in the morning too, for goodness sakes.

But this group of folks was mostly black folk and I LOVED IT!!!!!!

People tend to think I'm being silly when I say I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE, but it's the truth. After living in a mostly white environment for so many years, I've come to really appreciate black folk & black culture.

And, yes, I've seen some of these black folks before, still ... it was a pleasure to see so many ppl 'exercising' and so early in the morning too.

Yep, I was checking everybody out, discreetly of course. Smile I noted, again, the difference in routines/styles when it came to the men & women. The women were walking in groups, chit chatting about their kids, work, recipes, hair care, laundry tips, etc. While the men were quiet--taking care of the business at hand.

Now, don't get me wrong. I enjoy chit chatting with the women like any body else...but it can be distracting sometimes. Besides, I'm not much of a morning person and I don't like too much 'talking' so early in the morning.

I'm sorta 'removed' from the women's group. Ftr, I'm talking about people I see pretty much on a semi regular basis, so it's not that I'm ostracized from the women. . .I just keep to myself for the most part.

Anyway, I'm ran 3 1/2 miles today and it felt great. As I was leaving, one of the brothers approached me. I've seen him around this particular park many times before, so I didn't feel threatened, reluctant, or hesitant.

He gives me his business card and tells me about a "Running club" he joined. This club mainly prepares for marathons (running).

He seems to think I'd 'like' this group of folks, come check 'em out, he says.

Usually, the extent of our conversation is nothing more than a simple greeting of "Hello" or "good morning" but TODAY, he gives me his business card, smiles, & actually kisses my hand.

Hmmmm......

Interesting. Maybe I'll call him, maybe I won't. The truth is . . .I don't know that I 'want' to join a running club.

Ah well. . .

Have a great day today everyone, and remember--be safe. Smile

Good morning people, it's THURSDAY!!!

And can you believe it was drizzling this morning?!? Goodness, after all that heat we've had lately (and it's still supposed to be in the mid 80s later today). This weather is a trip & a half.

It's also draining. . .

The air quality seemed worse than usual. Despite the light drizzle, it was warm. Too warm for so early in the morning. I went to one of the local high schools to use their track...but decided not to run after all.

The air quality seemed thick. . .probably not a good idea to run in this weather.

So I walked. . .

. . .Which took longer.

Now see, today would've been the perfect day to walk with the ladies and take advantage of the, often times, enthusiastic chit chatting they normally have going on. Smile

As it was. . .I was bored out of my mind, and it took me an hour and 50 minutes just to walk 5 miles.

To top it off. . .I can feel my "friend" (that time of the month) approaching. Which means (for me) low back pain, headache, stomach cramps, tender breasts. Ugh!

Do y'all have any idea how much it hurts to run with tender breasts? . . .and it doesn't matter how good a sports bra you use, they are called "tender breasts" for a reason. {gasp}

And the sad part is...there's not much I can do about it, nature will simply take it's course.

Well, there IS something I can do...I'll take 2 Midols and hope for a better day (weather & health wise) tomorrow.

Have a good one and be safe. Smile

Fab: <<<<<~~~~~walked 5 [boring) miles.

I feel ya.

I trade one discomfort for another. Strapping on extra tight and thick sports bras when I'm too tender.

I don't think it's heathy to bound one's self into boy chestedness, but running doesn't leave me so sore afterwards.

Thanks for the tip, Ma'am. Smile I've never tried strapping on an extra sports bra--that's a good idea. I'll try it next time around.

My breasts get so tender this time of the month, I'll try pretty much anything. . .

Thanks again.Smile

Good morning peeps, happy FRIDAY. . .

I was waylaid this morning by a natural occurence of the female body (well, for me anyway), it's called--monthly cramps. I knew they were coming. . .

But I thought I'd get up anyhoo and do my thang. . .unfortunately, the low back pain & cramps in my stomach (not to mention my aching head) said to me: Oh no you don't! Sit yo hardheaded behind down, cause YOU ain't goin' nowhere, homegirl.

I responded: Sho you rite. Smile

Have a great day everyone. . .

I can't resist saying good morning back at you over a strong cup of fresh coffee...mmm... although it's Saturday here while it's still your Friday afternoon.
I'm hoping those nasty cramps are long gone. I've tried taking tablets that contain Plane Tree extract ~ supposedly a natural antedote, from the Plane Trees that grow in India. It didn't work for me though.

OK I'm off to work!
