Tada!!! MBM done gone and messed around and gave me a little space of my own!

Hey y’all!

I thought the best way to get this blog started was with an opening statement about why it exists!

Much to the dismay of some of you more rowdy people () this forum probably will not be a collection of my somewhat unconventional and random ramblings and ideas! After all, I already plant those on the many other wonderful issue-related forums already in place! Therefore, instead, I will probably use this space to post stories and articles and my thoughts on what I believe are some of the more critical (pun intended!) issues we face as a community and a people. Things like activism and politics and highlighting organizations working for our betterment and benefit …. and a plea to support them! Or whatever my soapbox-of-the-month happens to be! It’s high time we as a people became engaged, … because it’s our lives and our children and our prosperity that’s on the line, here. And I don’t want to be the generation that drops the ball!!

At this point in time, I believe one of our biggest and most pressing concerns is the upcoming 2006 Congressional elections. In realty, it is even more important than the 2008 Presidential elections, because Congress is what makes (or dissolves) the laws by which we live in this country. And it is important that we effect a regime change this coming November or we will may not even be having an election in the next two years!! So you can probably expect to see a lot about that here in the coming months!

Right now, the blog is open to everyone to contribute to. However … unlike on the main board, everything does not go up in here!! Admittedly, I do not share MBM’s sense of openness! Rude, disrespectful, antagonistic and/or other forms of negativity will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned. It is my belief that no one’s opinion is irrelevant … though it may be disagreed with or misunderstood. Discussions toward understanding another’s opinion, I can work with …. but personal attacks will be a no no. And if some of you may want to post articles from time to time, just shoot me a message, and I will see about trying to get the door unlocked for you!

All in all, I hope that in the end this space will be informational and motivational and a place where crucial and critical issues we face are discussed, diagnosed, treated and made strong again. Typically, The ER is a place dedicated to trying to fix what is broken. I don’t see any reason why this ER should be any different!
