To me, this is negotiable. If you really want the man with the best plan, then Obama needs to show his! Because right now, I beg to differ that he has the best one out on the table right now.

But your loyalty is admirable ... but I gotta ask ... Is this some kind of "man thing"? Big Grin

Well now ... here I am back at this dilemma again!! 19

This time as a result of the recent badgering I recently took from MBM on the "Black Women Voting for Hillary" thread! (j/k, Sir! Smile)

But, I did have a moment while realizing his rationale behind why Black folk should vote for Obama over Hillary. I do understand his point, and can't say that I disagree with it. But, I believe he and I have a different perspective of what our vote means and what it is for and so, we probably still check different boxes when we enter our respective booths! Smile

For me, my vote in the primary elections is my voice about my opinions of the issues .. and pretty much the only time I get to really use it! Eek In the last two general elections, I had to place a "lesser of two evils" vote, which was not really a vote for the candidate of my choice, but one against the opponent. It was a form of defense, not of support.

But the primaries ... that's where I get to vote my conscious. It may not be the popular vote, but it's MY choice .. and I use it as such.

On any side-by-side comparison of the present issues, only one candidate meets my criteria for how I believe the issues that face African Americans should be dealt with. Everybody else is business as usual .. you could line their agendas up side by side, and if no names were attached to them, you wouldn't know whose was which! Eek

The only person with a different plan, one that would reap benefits to my people is Dennis Kucinich, whose plans to un-feather the nests of big corporations with my money, get rid of the incentives that encourage the outsourcing of jobs, provide for comprehensive universal health care, immediately and summarily end the Iraq war, and create a more balanced educational system would be great strides towards uplifting the Black community as a whole. I do disagree with him on the issues of same-sex marriage and immigration - two very important issues. But, I'd have to vote Republican if I wanted to coincide with my choices for those!

However, I got to thinking ... what if DK were not an option? 19 Clearly he has virtually no chance of winning. And if voting my conscious were not an issue with me, a vote for him could clearly be deemed as "wasted." sck But, if I had no one to support due to the fact that his policies support me ... who would I vote for?? Between Hillary or Barack?? Confused

I really don't know the answer to that, as I haven't really had to think about it much. But, in a choice between two people where there's really not much difference between them, would this be the sort of scenario where Obama gets some extra "Black" points that would tip the scales?? If his Blackness were to count for anything, it most certainly should be that.

Hmmmmm ... 19
