I need you to be more specific.

Do you want to lose bodyfat on your thighs?
Do you want firmer (more muscular) legs?
Are you looking to develop a certain part of your legs (calves, inner thigh, back of thigh)?

Hi NS:

In addition to DDouble's questions, how are your knees? Any lower back issues?

I like squats, walking lunges and deadlifts to hit the quadriceps and hamstrings. All of them can be done without special equipment, just with stuff around your house. You didn't ask about calves, but they are typically worked on the same day. Some links and pics are below.

Unfortunately, getting the definition is 80% diet. Your BF% has to be low enough for the muscles to show through.

Whether your muscles just get tighter and stronger or larger AND tighter and stronger is predicated on how you train, eat, and sleep. Contrary to popular myth, simply training with weights will not make you bulk up. The kind of muscle hypertrophy you may be envisioning is the result of very specific training, eating and supplementing performed over many months or perhaps years.

Now let me go check out Naomi to see what she's working with. I've always considered her kind of skinny.

I also like this squat variation to hit the inner thighs.

Okay, um, I was supposed to be giving a review. 1

The site where I copied these exercises from is www.exrx.net.

It's an excellent resource that I've been using for years.

It has everything: anatomy, terminology, exercise demonstrations, diet and nutrition information . . . you name it.

It has something useful for everyone, from beginners to experienced athletes.

I've never cared for the Denise Austin or Tamilee Webb videos, but they are out there. Razz If you have cable with a digital package, you probably already have FitTV, so if you can, program your DVR and save a couple of bucks.

I do have this DVD though. While it is primarily a cardio workout, it still puts a nice burn on the thighs.

While we're on the subject of thighs . . .

What's old is new again.

I had been curious about kettlebells for a while. When I saw them being carried at Target, I decided to give it a try. The 10# is priced at $30, so I felt the investment was reasonable.

I have not been disappointed. The workouts, a combination of strength and cardio, are intense, but not so difficult as to be discouraging. The basic moves are not difficult to learn and don't require a great deal of space. Er, uh, but please don't swing the bells near your breakable items. Thank you. 4 I have been using the 10# and recently picked up the 15#. I have yet to lose my grip during a workout, but I always face an empty wall just in case. When the weather warms up, I will take it outside.

I would definitely recommend kettlebell workouts as a quick, inexpensive way to add activity to your day.
