(1) Recklessness, which leads to destruction;
(2) cowardice, which leads to capture;
(3) a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults;
(4) a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame;
(5) over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble."

Programming the Mind

Before I mention exercises, muscle groups or proper form, let's talk about the most important factor in fitness success:

GOAL SETTING!

Get a piece of paper and do the following:

1) Write down a specific fitness goal (lose 2% bodyfat, reduce my waist size by 3 inches, gain 5 lbs. of lean mass).

2) Set a realistic deadline for acheiving your goal.

3) Identify quantifiable markers that indicate progress toward your goal.

4) Write a reminder to affirm your ability to reach your goal at least twice an hour.

Programming your mind for success is key to obtaining the fitness result you want!

Excuse me if this is in the wrong place, but I need some advice about fitness equipment. I can buy one piece of equipment to contribute to my over-all health and wellness.

I plan on buying one consumer fitness machine within the next week or so and am thinking about a stationary bike or elliptical or something like that. I only want to spend about $500 or less.

What should I buy if my goal is to have one thing to give me the best fitness/health condition and why?

It's cool. My browser's being acting crazy, so pardon the delay in updates.

ATP has given the best answer in another thread:

Kettlebells

For $60, you can purchase the Enter the Kettlebell Book & DVD combo and for $450 (including S&H), you could purchase a 16kg (35 lbs), 24kg (53 lbs) & 32kg (70 lbs) kettlebell set.

This will provide strength, cardio and muscle-building progression for years and will take up very little space in your home.

Try www.dragondoor.com and search on kettlebell.
