Black America's own leadership, and/or those in positions of responsibility are to blame! None of the material blames the lower class, the underclass, or those at the bottom of the social-economic ladder, but rather:
A. No good sleazy poverty pimping truly sacrilegious Black preachers. B. Game playing using false pretenses to hold elected office inept blatantly incompetent self serving elitist Black elected officials.....most of these individuals are affiliated with the Democratic Party, the political party that has controlled the Black community for well over forty years. C. Serving every other community but the Black community, while helping to free the truly criminal, and using their educational expertise to hang the truly innocent of Black America no good treasonous Black lawyers and judges. D. Breaking up the Black family structure for illicitly gained profits no good Black social workers. E. Placing minors including infants on probation no good Black probation officers. F. The "Yellow Journals", in a Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper that publishes falsehoods about Black people to protect treasonous Black people or its friends in high places, who have brought nothing but harm to the Black community. One example is strongly evidenced by the activity at "Killer/Butcher King" hospital, to which the Los Angeles Times makes it a point to expose this disgraceful activity, while that no good Los Angeles Sentinel, the largest so-called Black owned newspaper on the West Coast, refuses to expose corruption within the Black community. Journalists, newspapers, etc., are supposed to be tools used to inform the public and expose corruption in government. Journalists and newspapers, are supposed to promote truth, and this would especially be the case of any newspaper and its relationship with its constituency. The Los Angeles Sentinel promotes corruption in government, and chooses not to be informative or be an advocate of the people, the people in this instance being predominately Black people. Heck, even the people on the street know what goes on at Butcher/Killer King Hospital, because this activity has been going on since the 70s. No good "Brentwood Burke" is a typical example of that Black elected official who plays games of deceit to use false pretenses to hold elected office. Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke, A.K.A. "Brentwood Burke", is truly a disgrace to what it means to be an elected office holder. Second District Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke, has yet to competently serve the residents of the 2nd District, specifically as it applies to South Central Los Angeles, Watts, Compton, Inglewood, etc. Mind you, "Brentwood Burke" takes on the attitude that the atrocities of Butcher/Killer Hospital is some new revelation. G. and/or the so-called educated but many times truly treasonous Black middle class. .....elements of each that most surely exists within the Black community. ***************************************************** ...and don't let Burke's bio mislead you, ......the people who live in the district, as it pertains to South Central Los Angeles, Compton, Inglewood, Watts, etc., know that "Brentwood Burke" is a fraud, and has been a fraud the entire time she has held elected office! 2nd Los Angeles County Supervisoral District "Brentwood Burke" has been more concerned about protecting her personal friends, or advancing her own political career. Serving the people of the Second Los Angeles County Supervisoral District, as Yvonne B. Burke is sworn under oath, and mandated by law to do, are very removed from "Burke's" thought processes, as to the essense of the meaning of being an elected official. An elected official is supposed to be a servant of the people. Elected officials are not supposed to: A. Play games when petitioned for redress as it relates to the atrocities of government perpetrated against the law abiding. B. Serve special interest groups at the expense of the district served. C. Enable personal friends to escape punishment for betraying the people. D. Use false pretenses to seek or hold elected office! E. A through D amount to the disgrace, and treason that truly exist with the typical Black elected leadership! ****************************** http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-le-king16.1apr16,1,634894.story LETTERS Exposing, Addressing King/Drew's Problems April 16, 2005 Re "County Health Chief Is Rebuked" and "Pandering at Patients' Expense," editorial, April 13: I am amazed at the negative reaction to The Times' reports of medical malfeasance at King/Drew Medical Center. I am dumbfounded at the suggestions from people in the community and elected officials like Mayor James K. Hahn that the substandard care at the hospital is no worse than any other hospital, it just receives more scrutiny. Keep reporting this story. The Times' exposure of these abuses is saving lives. Many people will choose care at other facilities, and patients' family members will pay closer attention to the care provided to patients at King/Drew. Congratulations on the Pulitzer. Susan Powers, Altadena I have a suggestion for Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Braithwaite Burke's statement "” "That hospital will be closed over my dead body" "” on the troubled King/Drew Medical Center. Let her stay there for a week and her body will be dead and they can then close this miserable example of a hospital. Bob Launius, Oxnard It is the same inept bureaucratic games with the Board of Supervisors and the Department of Health Services administration. Before they determine which systems in place are not working, they concoct new ones. Hire outside intensive-care doctors to monitor patients. Use expert nurses as foot patrols. Require the presence of a senior physician when doctor trainees are performing diagnostic tests or invasive procedures. Realistically, it might or might not be possible to carry out these patchwork procedures. No mention is made of what failed in causing so many deaths and injuries to patients. Something went wrong, very wrong. They need to review their systems. Determine what is not working or what procedures are not being followed and have the courage to confront and discipline those who are responsible, regardless of race. Supervisors and administrators don't think it politically expedient to confront minorities. They put on a show at board meetings but do little confronting otherwise. Gaston Serrato, Rowland Heights Thank you for your continued coverage of the King/Drew Medical Center problem. You have the guts to say it like it is. Now if only those in power also had the same courage, the problem would begin to be fixed. Please do not cease to publish articles on this. It's a long-term, deeply rooted problem, and media coverage is one part of the solution. Akemi Kayleng Knight, Los Angeles Copyright 2005 Los Angeles Times ***************************************************** The Bush Administration is in good standing! Due to the Bush Administration, and the committment of the U.S. Armed forces, the people of Iraq "have freedoms they never had before" and the Iraqis are working dilligently toward establishing their own "Democratic Republic". Heck, even Senator Ted Kennedy, who is as liberal as liberal can get, praised President George Bush on a job well done in Iraq! ****************************************************** ....and this is true, Black people need to get busy doing the constructive as opposed to the destructive. Many Thanks to you, Scalder, for telling it like it is! "In my opinion, when (and if) we finally realize that we need to spend money among ourselves, --(for the interest of ourselves)....we begin on a road of economic uplift. It does not take an urban league report, a commission to study it or the US government to implement it..... FIRST,WE (as a people) need to start to keeping each other accountable. We seriously need to keep each other in check for how we spend """OUR""""money. We need to get into the mentality that it's not 'MY' money but the 'communities' money. We have become a materialistcally driven people, obsesed with the hedonistic images that the mass media tells us are real. We go out of our way to buy chit that depreciates down to nothing the minute we walk out of the store. Instead of investing for future generations, we are too selfish, buying $6000 rims that don't do a damn thing but gleam in the sun, buying 20 and 30 pairs of tennis shoes at $80 - $100 dollars a pair. Breaking our necks to run to the koreans to get our nails painted, and to the indians 7/11 store to buy our '40s'. We'll spend hundreds of dollors on weed and won't spend a damn dime on a book about smart investing. Our young people are lost as hell, not knowing their ass hole from a hole in the sidewalk,...with their idea of being a black man is demeaning women, calling each other ni&&er on a record and bragging about how thugish they are and how much gold and silver is hanging around their necks and stuck on their teeth and robbin and killing each other for insignificant petty reasons.... Our little girls having babies and not even being able to take care of themselves, let alone an infant. Becoming grandmothers at the age of 33 and grown assed men still living off their mothers or so called girlfriends. And oh how we go along and glorify it all as 'keeping it real', and as someone posted in another thread...."Ghetto" has become the thang to be. So the first thing we need to do is start pointing all this chit out....emphasizing, day in and day out how backwards it is. We need to stop modeling the sorts of behaviors that have proven time and time again to only dig us deeper into pits of despair. Secondly, we need to start buisnesses....independently and collectively. And I'm not talking about some little rib shack, hotdog stand or beauty/barber shop either. We need to get into manufacturing, producing, farming, owning grocery stores, health care conglomerants, owning sports and entertainment corporations THEN be responsible stewards of these enterprises ---not like BET for example (whos majority programming is a mindless, pointless, waste of energy). We need to start hiring and not have to rely of being hired, producers instead of always being consumers and leaders instead of always looking for some group or sombody to lead us. Damn the government, Damn the NAACP, Damn all these 'so called' black leaders who cannot even get together on one accord, and set one collective goal or agree on an appropriate agenda. We need to start keeping ouselves accountable for the poor choices some of us make.....identify it, and then 'as a community' condemn that chit! We need to stop worring about Mr. Charlie and start focusing on the uplift of our own station in amerika. And if we do that.....we'll never have to worry about Mr. Charlie again. Money talks.......that other stuff walks. Hell, mexicans ain't took a damn thing away from us.......we're just content to sit back a squander it all away. Go into ANY urban community in amerika....you'll find hispanic stores popping up left and right....they are hiring their own, you'll see indian establishments, asian enterprises all looking out for themselves. BUT us, we'll pass by a brothers struggling business to go to the koreans shop to get a jar of grease JUST because it's twenty cents cheaper. Those of us who have the education, connections and skills spend too much time in narcissitic showboating: basking in the 'hey ya'll--look at me', I work for corporate amerika and I drive a Beamer, I have made it' malarkey...we have got to get busy yall. The government aint gonna do it for us, neither is the naacp, urban league, Farrakhan, Cornel West,....not even these mega churches with your T.D. jakes, Creflo Dollar and all the rest of them. NO my brothers and sisters, we are gonna have to do it ourselves. When I sojourned to the million man march,...I was sooo filled with hope and enthusiastic zeal. It was one of the best days of my life, but after the gloss has dulled and now that reality has set in, I have to conclude that Not A Damn Thing Came Of the Million Man March but a bunch of good feelings! But We can at least get that spirit up again, and this time do something!!!! Hey brother minister, what happend to all that money ya'll raised up there at the MM March? Hell, I want my chit back!" by Scalder *********************************** The Black Community is in Fact its Own Worst Enemy! The fact that our own Black elected leadership, and/or others in positions of responsibility have failed, more so than racism on the part of Caucasian America, is also the reason that the masses of Black people, be it from the slums of a South Central Los Angeles or an Oakland in the West, to a Harlem, in the East, etc., are kept in poverty. yeah Lofton......black people wanted to be slaves too okay? If you can look past the vestiges of jim crow and the poverty that black folks were systematicallt regulated to...and the peverse discrimination that still exists in employment, housing and finacial lending....then you are just looking for excuses to rant and rave in a self-hating manner because of your experiences.....you always decry others and even disrespect the dead....but what have you done personally to change the things that you are so damn resentful about?

Scalder's efforts to rectify the situation(s) he decried are also real and also have much relevance.....he is not a negro that revels in the misfortunes of blacks and spends all of his time running to racist white conservatives and self-hating conservative negroes celebrating the shortcomings of the black race either.....like many others in here....he is giving his time, money and effort to correct the wrongs that exist........try it Lofton you may like it.........

Bush is not responsible for the demise, but he is responsible for being apart of the negligence of the needs of a black community that is just as much apart of this society as anyother creed. Someone tell me what happened to "No child left behind" and "Affirmative access" please?

......Well Kevin41, you are entitled to your opinion no matter how ridiculous or untrue your views are. I don't have to prove myself to you or anyone else, because I've already proven myself. .....As for what I have done for others, that is none of your business. Any given day I can disprove the mis-statements of fact you have sent my direction. Furthermore, again, I only give credit or praise where it is due. Unlike your contention, I have not condemned the entire Black race. Again, I choose my own heroes not you! Sincerely, Michael Lofton

Bush may not responsible for it, but he surely isn't trying to remedy it.

Lofton,
Kevin41 keeps calling you out on your denigration of the entire Black community by asking you to name a Black person [outside of yourself and your family members] that you consider noteworthy. Your response to this point has been to ignore the question or to say that you don't have to prove anything to him/her. Kevin41 now asks you to put out there what you have done/are doing to correct the wrongs you seem delight in pointing out. Again, your response is to dodge. Lofton, it's time to shyt or get off the pot. |

...and believe it or not President George Bush has a huge following because unlike the thoughts of a few detractors, he holds dear family values, respect for the law, etc.

No Child Left behind is leaving so many children behind that they don't want to talk about it anymore! And since more and more schools are losing minority student enrollment every year ... and colleges are getting to expensive to go to anyway, Affirmative Access is pretty much sitting next to No Child Left Behind!! ....that is not the consensus of the masses. Heck, Senator Ted Kennedy, one of the most liberal Democrats in the U.S. Senate could think of nothing but praise for President George Bush. President George Bush will go down in history as being a Great President, a President who truly made a difference. Instead of pointing the finger at President George Bush, Black people need to "check their own elected leadership" and/or others in positions of leadership! ....no, blaqfist you haven't blamed the Bush Administration, Racist Caucasians, the Republican Party, Slavery, etc., .....but there are many Black people who do blame the Bush Administration, Racist Caucasians, the Republican Party, etc. .......and those who make these statements more times than not, can not prove their claims. ...Mind you, the Democratic Party, many times through our own disgraceful leadership have, and continue to be large and in charge of the Black community. ...When some people choose not to hold their own failing leadership responsible, they have to have a scapegoat, and the scapegoats chosen are the Bush Administration, Caucasians, the Republican Party. Our own Black leadership often play this game on the Black community. This activity gives them an excuse to do nothing but blame someone who had nothing to do with the situation! ....The worst racism or enslavement of all, is the racism and enslavement, in self-destruction that Black people perpetrate on each other,..... which is contributing to the extinction of the Black community! The KKK, the Aryan Nation, etc., even make jokes about this, by saying, all we have to do, is let the Black community run its own course, give them enough rope and they will hang themselves. Their prediction is, without any influence on the part of any KKK, the Aryan Nation, etc., the Black community will eventually destroy itself! So, far their prediction is working! Sincerely, Michael Lofton
